FPS Drops and Stuttering

Since the latest update, I've been experiencing noticeable FPS drops and occasional stuttering during matches. The game doesn't feel as smooth as it used to, especially during fights.

I've already tried verifying the game files, lowering my graphics settings, and restarting my PC, but the issue is still there.

Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? If you've found anything that helped improve performance, I'd really appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks!

  • Hi 0uyymerr3yow,

    Thanks for reporting this.

Just to clarify, did the FPS drops and stuttering start after a recent game update?

The team recently released an update to address FPS drops affecting some PC players. If you haven't seen it yet, you can find more details here:

Apex Legends: Latest Update – 06/25/2026 – 5:20 PM PT

If you've already installed the latest update and are still experiencing the issue, you could also try the following:

    • If you've recently updated your graphics driver, consider rolling back to a previous stable version, as some players have reported improved performance after doing so.
    • Make sure Apex Legends is running on your dedicated GPU (if applicable).
    • Close any unnecessary background applications or overlays.
    • Try limiting your FPS.
    • Check your CPU and GPU usage in Task Manager while the game is running.
    • If supported by your system, try enabling Core Isolation in Windows Security.

Please let us know if the issue improves after trying these steps. We'd be happy to continue looking into it with you.

If you don't mind, could you also share your PC specifications? It would help us better understand your setup.

If possible, a DxDiag report would also be very helpful for further investigation.

Sure! My GPU is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, and my CPU is an Intel Core i7-14700HX.

Let me know if you need any other system information.

    Thanks for sharing your specs!

Your system looks more than capable of running Apex Legends, so we'd like to gather a bit more information to better understand what's happening.

If you've recently updated your graphics driver, you may also want to try rolling back to a previous stable version, as some players have reported improved performance after doing so.

Please keep us posted on whether you notice any changes.

    We appreciate your help!

I tried rolling back my graphics driver, and it seems to have fixed the issue. Everything is running smoothly again now.

Thank you for the suggestion. I really appreciate your help!
