G-Sync on 240Hz monitor capped at 144Hz

Hello, anyone who cares. Before the 3/19/19 patch I was able to work around the 144fps cap by using the advanced launch option +fps_max 0 or +fps_max unlimited. The second change under stability and performance in the patch notes is this:

  • Capped PC FPS to 300 to balance improving stability but still letting you folks enjoy those sweet frames.

The +fps_max command used to work correctly, but no longer does. Before the patch, with G-Sync enabled, the command would work when set to a value of 0 to 144, with 0 being the only value uncapping the frame rate and locking at g-sync's max refresh rate, in this case 240. Setting it to any value between above 145 and 240 would not work and resulted in the frame rate capping at 144. I used RTSS to cap my frame rate to 237, as g-sync works most optimally when capped to refresh rate - 3.

After the patch, +fps_max 0 or unlimited no longer work to uncap the games refresh rate. It is now locked at 144fps. It's not really a priority, but I'd appreciate a fix somehow, ideally by making the +fps_max command work at values between 145 and 240. For now a 144fps cap isn't going to kill me.

same issue as well. prior to update i got well over 240 fps now im capped at 144

  • I was listening to Seagull stream earlier and he mentioned that Respawn is aware of the issue. I think instead of capping the game at 300 it's actually capped at 144. I was just testing it out without g-sync enabled and I can't get it go above 144 at all. The +fps_max commands still works from 0-144, with 0 or unlimited capping it at 144.
