Game crashes all the time with uncapped FPS settings. Sometimes even when capped

Hello, playing this game ever since it came out, i thought the crash issues will be fixed as time passes with updates etc but nothing so far has helped me. The EA live chat is ridiculous, im sorry for being blunt but they dont know what they're doing.

What ive done to try and fix the crashes: Tried almost every other "Crash fix" posts found on forum and other articles + youtube vids.
When do i frequently crash: When i uncap my fps to unlimited.
What seems to stop the crash 'for a while' : capping my fps to 75. (eventually crashes after a couple games)

Ive even formatted my pc to try and fix this. Installed and SSD and installed the game on it, still has the same exact issue.

PC Specs: i5 4670k, 8Gb 1333Mhz ram, 1TB HDD, 250gb SSD, Gtx 1060 3gb

Game settings, everything on LOW. Res: 1920x1080 144hz

Frequently crashes with reports : EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION(read): 000002DD5A47FFE0 (the numbers always vary)

I don't think its my hardware related. Im running a clean windows 10 17763 Build on my SSD.

Any help would be appreciated, i would like to get rid of the crashes and play on uncapped fps, this has been very frustrating cause i have been repairing the game at least 5 times a day to play it normally.

Turns out one of my ram was faulty. I did a test and found out it had errors. Removing the ram abd playing the game with uncapped fps and all settings on high didnt crash once for 4hours straight. Gonna order 16gigs of 2*8gb.
    Thanks for all the help.

EDIT : Can confirm it was my ram, no more crashes ever since i removed it. Waiting for my new ram modules to arrive 🙂

  • From a microsoft article "memory allocation errors could be due to slow page growth"
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/4055223/memory-allocation-errors-can-be-caused-by-slow-page-file-growth

If u want u can try and set virtual memory to a certain value for example 16gb (set minimum value and maximum value the same)

To clean up virtual memory if u want there is a setting in local group policy under tab local policy and security (find it).. This will clean up virtual memory space everytime windows restarts

Other than that try clearing nvidia shader cache folder nv_cache and try installing driver 417.71 or anything else

Anyways it's generally recommended to not use virtual memory to save the workings of an ssd because it's not good.. However it's almost impossible because some games and app just need it and if u have only 8gigs of ram u certainly need it..

If u want u can share the type of memory u have installed and which profile (xmp/jedec) u have set so we can take a look at timings

Hi, thanks for the reply. Ive already set virtual memory and im also using the latest driver 430.39 for nvidia graphics card.
Mine is an old ddr3 module with 1333mhz 2x4gigs. Do you think it could possibly be my ram causing this problem? Think if I upgrade to a 1600/2400 mhz 16gigs will help fix this?

    Edit: just had another crash

  • You need to be careful with it.. Like your 4670k only supports 1333/1600 officially if u buy higher dd3 that would be overclocking and not necessary stable.. Also your motherboard needs to support that type of memory

Also i would try what suggested post above mentioned.. You can try also setting texture streaming budget to 2gb if that option is available and set "maximum prerendered frames" in nvidia control panel to a value that is best (between 1 and 4)

It is likely to be software

Thanks for the reply once again.

Ive tried what you've asked and still faced 3 crashes so far (all while im still fps capped to 75). My current texture streaming budget is set to the lowest possible although ive tried all the available options. My maximum prerendered frames is set to "4"

Could you possible send me the best settings i could tweak in the nvidia settings according to specs?

Also, i did a quick search and found out 1600mhz is the ideal go to, thanks for pointing that out. A 16gb 1600mhz 8*2 should suffice then? I was going to upgrade my ram sooner or later anyway.

Also, im not sure if its completely the software itself because ive tried way too many things to get rid of the issue. Any help is appreciated and and respected though, I'll try all the possible troubleshooting methods available long as they fix them 🙂

Another point, ive cleaned my pc and installed win 10 about 3 times so far trying to fix the crashes but the problem seems to stay. Im honestly doubting if its really my ram thats causing it.

Im not an expert but the crash report states its a memory issue, yes? Can it not be my ram thats effing up basically?

I also get random pak file errors and untrusted system file errors (frequently) which forces me to basically repair the game at least 2 times a day.

  • make sure to get a kit of 2x8 and put it in the dual channel slots (read ur motherboard manual)..

  • I have been having tons of crashes both straight to desktop and logged errors.  I tried everything to fix it, I tried every possible solution I found.  I even tried to get help from EA support and did everything they recommended.  It still crashed almost every game.

Well I went into my BIOS and turned of the XMP so my 3400mhz RAM is now only running at 2133.  But I have not crashed since I did this.  I have played a total of about 5 hours without a crash.  It seems that it something different for everyone having this problem.  This appears to have been mine.

    My specs are

    MSI z390 Tomahawk Motherboard

    Core i7 8700k Liquid Cooled

    Gigabyte OC Windforce rtx 2060

16bg Patriot Viper Steel 3400mhz RAM

I am going to try to go back to fullscreen instead of windowed to see if it keep working also.

try running prime95 and see if you have any errors. If you do, manually figure out which stick causes it by removing one of them and running tests till you find no errors. Thats what i did.
Also run windows memory diagnostic to see if you have errors.
