3 years agoThere was an update a few days ago, however this was rolled back, and was re-updated yesterday. As this update was related to security it's likely that it has KB4534310 as a required update.
So in this case it sounds like you'll need to get the system updated in order for Apex to run going forward.
We're not experts in Windows Security updates, but what error do you get when you try to accept that update? You may want to try running the System File Checker for issues leading to the update being blocked.

I have all the prerequisites installed, and I am getting error 0x80073712

That indicates that a prerequisite file is missing or damaged, thus preventing the update. There are other tools like DISM, but can I check if the SFC found an issue?- 3 years ago
SFC did find an issue, attaching a log.
