having issues with in-game movement

What should be happening instead? I should be running forward for the amount of time I hold W.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? No idea. Nobody else I know has this problem.

When I hold W, it's as if it was buffered incorrectly, because I will continue moving forward after I let go of W, for a period of time proportional to how long I held W. For example if I hold W for six seconds and release, I will continue moving forwards for perhaps 1.5 seconds. This is not the key getting stuck down because this does not happen in other programs; this is not a software 'stuck down' thing because those occur very rarely and stop when you press it again and this occurs with literally every W press and stops after a consistent period of time. The carrying will work even while the chat is open; the charge-up will happen even during the respawning cutscene or while on a zip-line. This is incredibly disruptive to gameplay as I cannot reliably move backwards after spotting an enemy, or stop to pick up an item. For about thirty seconds to a minute in my first game after completely restarting Apex I do not experience this; after that, I experience this issue constantly until Apex is closed. The game Observation has this same problem; no other game I have ever played does.
