High CPU Usage And Crashes After Recent Hotfix

Recent two days, I have been getting unstability in game.

I rarely have any crashes for the entire season 9, and the first week of season 10 went well too.

When the latest hotfix dropped yesterday, I have been having lots of crashes.

Today alone, I had 24 crashes.

The crash behaves like this:

1. Game video feed either freezes at the frame, or blacks out with unresponsive Apex window

2. Game's sound keeps playing the same moment, then drops

3. Usually at this point it goes back to my desktop, or I just end task out of impatience

I do not know how to troubleshoot the issue, because:

1. The crash usually doesn't leave a trace inside of Windows event viewer

2. I am using Steam version of Apex Legends, not sure whether I would have any crash log text files

3. I do have .dmp dump files, which I have no way to interpret

4. I cannot upload .dmp or .zip files here

I am using 3080Ti + 10700KF, it has been great for all of the games that I play, and Apex Legends itself, up until yesterday.

I was OC'ing CPU's core clock to 5.1GHz (rather average OC result), today I have to manually slow down the core to 4.9GHz for the game to run without much crashing.

GPU OC doesn't seems relevant.

Besides, usually when I f up my GPU OC, it crashes with a dialog stating some DirectX error

Anyways, I did try using WinDbg to analyze the dump file, here's the output:

This dump file has an exception of interest stored in it.
The stored exception information can be accessed via .ecxr.

Also, CPU usage is very high.

Usually it's 80%~90% on my 10700KF. This is not normal. Please try to figure out why and patch it.

Referring to youtube benchmark videos that runs Apex Legends on a similar setup, CPU usage is usually 30%~50%.

I am running Apex Legends as Admin.

Good luck getting a reply out of the EA support staff. As soon as they hear the word overclock they tap out of the thread. It doesn't matter to them if your system is rock solid stable in all other applications. This crash bug has been in the game for several seasons and it persists across hardware, I know because I've had it on two different PCs across the Steam and Origin versions of the game. I've been trying to squeeze tears out of stones here for a year and the only advice I can give you is to enjoy the mere couple of weeks of crash-free Apex around major patches, because those are the only times you're going to see the game running as it's capable and intended to run, at season opener and at the collection event.

    @nohm Thx for the attention.

I am only posting this thread because, before this specific patch it's totally fine. I didn't get any frequent crashes ever since the launch of this game. Many reports (aka threads on similar issue) only came in recently as well.

Plus, modern CPUs are *meant* to be OC'ed. As a program myself, I could tell they are probably just too bad or lazy to make a proper game.
