High cpu usage in-game

Just to keep the topic relevant. I have the same issue. I searched for a fix and tried different things for about 4 to 5 hrs with no success at all.

CPU - Intel I5 4690K (3.50GHz)
GPU - nVidia 1660 TI (6 GB)
16 GB of RAM

I keep my video settings at low to squeeze out 144 FPS and I've had no hiccups until season 5. I suddenly started dropping from 40 to 60 FPS in different zones for no apparent reason with no action going on. This happens both on Kings Canyon and World's Edge. My CPU usage is capped at 100% ONLY by Apex, it just takes all the remaining resource even if I put other programs in the background. If i have say Chrome, Discord and something else ON it will take 70% of the CPU usage, if i turn them off it will eat up 95%.
I updated my drivers, I tried repairing, re-installing the game and using the startup options that the comment above mentioned. Nothing works. Help.
@chillandchill yeah nothing works. I guess we will have to wait for a damn fix...
