I was HWID banned from Apex Legends
It has been almost 5 months since I was permanently banned on September 30, 2025. Since then, I have submitted more than 10 appeals, but I have only received automated responses.
I honestly do not understand why I was banned for “gameplay enhancement.” I have never used hacks, cheats, or any software that provides an unfair advantage in gameplay. At the time of the ban, I did not receive any email notification at all. I only discovered the ban when my friend and I decided to return to playing Apex Legends after not playing for several weeks.
I have played Apex Legends for a total of 872 hours, and I purchased the Ultimate Battle Pass Season 26 just a few weeks before the ban. I first started playing Apex Legends in 2019 and have spent a significant amount of money on the game.
When I checked my account data, I noticed there had been a login from China, but that was a long time ago. Currently, there are no abnormal logins, and on the date I was banned, I was not even playing Apex Legends.
After my main account was banned, I tried logging in with a secondary account and played 2–3 games, but a few days later it was banned as well. To be completely sure, I created brand-new Steam and EA accounts, played only one game of Apex, and a few days later those accounts were also banned. Now I understand that I have been HWID banned.
I only have one computer, and I honestly don’t know what I should do. This means I can no longer play Apex forever. I am currently a student, and I definitely do not have the money to replace my entire PC.
Account Details:
Steam ID: gamegolfnf2
EA ID: game26o1
Platform: PC (I logged in on PS5 a long time ago)
I truly do not understand the reason for this ban. These are some possibilities
1. From the Thailand community, I was told that after reinstalling Windows, some BIOS security settings required by the anti-cheat system may not be configured correctly:
* Secure Boot: Must be enabled (newer versions of EAC often check this).
* TPM 2.0: Must be enabled.
* BIOS Update: Updating the BIOS to the latest version on older motherboards can improve compatibility with security systems.
I was never informed about any of these requirements.
Additionally, system time issues were mentioned:
* If the system date and time are not perfectly accurate (even by a few minutes), the anti-cheat server may treat the security token as expired or invalid.
Before my ban, I replaced the CMOS battery on my motherboard because it was nearly depleted. When the PC was powered off, the system time would reset or become inaccurate.
2. I logged into my account at an internet café a long time ago. I am not sure if this could be related to a ban wave.
3. Previously, a friend I regularly played Apex Legends with could not launch the game at all, even after reinstalling it. He contacted support, and after a few days, he was able to play again.
4. On my PC, the only potentially risky software I have is Overwolf and AutoHotkey. I only use AutoHotkey to press the “1” key every 5 seconds for Path of Exile, which has nothing to do with Apex Legends.
5. Possible Easy Anti-Cheat issues: I have read many cases on the EA forums where players were banned due to EAC bugs. I have seen reports of bans even when using Logitech mice.
Evidence I can provide:
* Steam account with two-factor authentication enabled
* Steam purchase history: multiple Apex Coins and Battle Pass purchases (all receipts available)
* Total playtime: 872 hours
* I also play many other games such as CS, Valorant, and Destiny 2 without any issues
I do not know what specific evidence you require because I do not know the reason for my ban. If you need any additional information or proof, please contact me via the message system or the email associated with my EA ID.
I sincerely hope you can help me resolve this issue and allow me to play Apex Legends again.
Thank you very much for your time and assistance.
