Launching Apex Error

I keep getting this error whenever I try to open up the game. I tried repairing Apex, reinstalling Apex, nothing has worked. Please let me know how to fix this issue. Thank you.

  • I fixed it.

    I found this solution:

    Do you have AVAST installed?

Either way, go to the following path in your registry, look for the executable filename of the program you're trying to open and look for a "Debugger" key.  Check if the value says AVAST in it.  If it does, just open the Debugger key, remove the value and save it again.  Try to open your program again.

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options

    Hopefully it helps you

  • I was playing the game right before I slept, this morning I woke up and I couldn't launch the game. It said exe was not found at the location but the file is in there.

Repair nor reinstall fix it, I even uninstall my anti-virus to be sure but still unable to launch.

Clicking the exe straight nor launch it from origin gave me errors.

Anyone has any clue how to fix this?

  • I was fine yesterday as well. Hopefully they get back with an answer cause nothing online has seemed to help

  • I do have Avast installed. And by "executable file name" do you mean the apex launcher?

  • Wait, I think I got it. Yeah, it worked. Yo you're a god send. Thanks so much.

I'm having this same problem but I'm not understanding what the fix is? what did you do? Thanks

  • So if your using windows 10 go to you search bar and type in "registry editor".

You will see it pop up at the top, and right click it and then click "Run as Administrator".

Once the window opens up you just follow the path that was shown above till you reach the "r5apex.exe". (Soltuion.PNG)

There you will see two folders click on each of them and that's where you'll see the "Debugger" key.(Soltuions 1.PNG)

You will double click the Debugger ones and you will see a window open up. (Soltuion 2.PNG)

You will delete what is in the the box that says "Value data".

Press "OK" and everything should be okay from there.

  • Let me know if this is too confusing, and I will gladly pull some IT and do a 1on1 to walk you through it
