Launching Apex Via Steam Freezes Whole PC

Since as of yesterday i've had no problem playing the game. It was last night when launching the game via steam that it caused my whole entire pc to freeze up (Couldn't even alt tab or end the process) I lost all sound also while on discord to a friend.

ve removed all launch commands and tried reinstalling the game to no avail along with reinstalling my gpu drivers/chipset drivers and done a windows 10 sfc scan now for any corruptions and checking to see that everything in my pc was working.

I think there may be a memory leak or something happening as when launching any other games i do not get this problem.

Any ideas on what this could be?

My Pc specs are as follows: AMD 6750XT Ryzen 9 3900x 32gig Corsair Vengance 3600 mhz Corsair 850w Modular Asus Prime x570-Prime Pro Motherboard

Any help would be appreciated 🙂 Thanks!

  • Hey there @VERT1LE, I'm currently taking a deeper look into this issue as it's affecting various systems.

Are you hearing any beeping noises through your sound device?

Could you also run a memory to test if that's still functioning?

A memory leak seems likely as I've seen previous errors where the game was trying to allocate over 100 TB of memory, which usually is a indication of a memory leak.

This might be the same issue, just that it has become worse.

Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this.

Noo beeping noises at all but basically it freezes the entire pc it also happened in game a couple of times once during legend select and then halfway through the game. entire pc froze and was just a static glitch and then once it sorted itself out had to reconnect to discord again as couldn't hear anything. Also the mini map disappeared also half way through the game. I did a memtest and had 0 errors on it last night! Hope this helps 🙂

Yeah that does help quite a lot, this is indeed something that is very likely to be caused by something that EA/Respawn has done.

If you've overclocked anything, try to reset it to factory clock.

Reseating your memory and cleaning your PC could possibly help too.

I'll try to look into this issue, though we will most likely have to wait for a fix.
