No Brightness option

Most games have their own internal brightness/gamma setting applied on top of any desktop setting as most games fullscreen setting traditionally expects full control of the picture. This is the problem some users are finding, that this added and currently nonadjustable setting is making their games too bright in comparison to their desktop settings. Windowed or Borderless Window will use the calibrated desktop settings at the expense of typically disabling vsync, which can be equally problematic.

But I digress, I think I have a solution for the time being!

Navigate to this folder:

(OS main drive,probably C):\Users\(your PC's user profile)\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex\local

In this folder you will find a text file called 'videoconfig'

Open this file with notepad,  search for the line "setting.gamma" it should be the second last setting towards the bottom of the document.

This will be set  "1.000000"

To decrease the setting you have to INCREASE the number, so if you find your game is too bright you could try adjusting it to "2.000000" as a baseline, SAVE AND CLOSE THE FILE, then boot up the game to see how that looks. If it is too dark begin decreasing the value by 0.1-2 units, or continue increasing it if is still too bright. My over-brightness issue was minor, so I only had to increase the value to about "1.500000"

I really hope this helps folks, but clearly there is supposed to be a slider in the game to adjust this setting that is absent currently on PC.
