OOPS, Something went wrong, please try again later (100) apex legends

Something went wrong, please try again later (100) for Apex Legends. I tried uninstalling twice and I reopened and closed the app 40 times over. I am on PS4.

Change your DNS to google's DNS(primary:8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4 4) in your PS4

could someone explain to me what the downside to this is? Am I gunna * up my PS4 or Netflix etc ???
