Packet loss and Ping issues

Recent issues with ping on apex

I've recently been experiencing ping issues with apex alone. I have tried a bunch of different solutions such as,

  • resetting my internet connection
  • reinstalling apex/origin client
  • changing DNS
  • updating everything
  • repairing the file
  • lowering all settings

For reference, I have gigabit connection with cox, I am using a hardline connection, I have a 3060 GPU, and an intel i7 10k series CPU. Beyond reaching out here for a way to fix this I'm at a complete loss. It happens so often at this point that I can barely play the game. The weirdest part is that the ping it shows on the server list is CONSIDERABLY lower than it is in game, and it shows on the lobby screen. No other games on my PC have any kind of issue with ping or server connection. All system drivers are up to date, all updates for my PC are installed, and all hardware components are running at cool temps. Any assistance I could get finding a solution to the issue would be really appreciated.

That sounds frustrating, I'm going to assume you are connected with ethernet and not wifi.
You already have done some really solid troubleshooting, sadly it doesn't sound like that has worked.

I'll do my best to assist you with this issue

    General Troubleshooting
First things first, have a look at my troubleshooting guide.

You already did a lot of steps but you missed some, give it a go.

    Contact the ISP
If these steps didn't help, a high fluctuating ping and packet loss could indicate your ISP isn't routing the connection correctly.
In my guide I recommend a VPN for this case, if you don't want to pay for a VPN, I recommend contacting your ISP so they can troubleshoot the connection on their end.
