Intel i7-9700KF (overclocked, but I have tested with no OC and same result)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080TI (stock, no OC)
32GB RAM (stock, no OC)
Windows 10 1909 64-bit
This is not a heat issue, and my system is stable in all other benchmark tests. It's definitely something that occurred in the last Apex patch. Do you use NZXT CAM or any other fan/RGB applications?
I have:
- Intel Core i9 9900K (@4.8Ghz - temps in low 70's when gaming)
- GeForce RTX 2080 Ti - drivers 441.87
- MSI Z390 MEG ACE Motherboard
- 32GB DDR4 3200 Corsair RAM
- Windows 10 1909 64-bit
You're righ @VT41 t. It's not a temperature issue, and even the game does not think so. I used to get the "CPU Overclocked/Overheated" bullsh1t message after last year's summer, but it too had nothing to do with the actual temperatures of the CPU. More so, it had to do with the bad implementation of the game's AVX workloads.
I have zero issues in all other games, for example:
- Gears 5
- Battlefield V
- Shadow of the Tomb Raider
- CS:GO
- Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
The only one crashing/problematic is Apex Legends.
EA/Respawn: Please let me know if there's any other information I could provide to help troubleshooting the issue.
Issue: Game crashes randomly to desktop after 1-2second freeze, without ANY error messages.
Thanks.

@tonderr@VT41I've had two evenings now during which the game initially crashed a few times, and then it ran all evening without crashing once. I have not narrowed down what could be the cause but there are two theories:
1. Something thermal in my PC (as it heats up it gets better?). Not sure though, 'cause I've had evenings where the game crashes throughout.
2. Running Sysinternals Process Explorer 16.04 in Admin mode (Show all processes) and leaving it open somehow prevents the crash. (I noticed that I had no crashes after opening it, and subsequently opened it again the next night after experiencing a crash...)
Not confirmed though, but maybe give #2 a try if you can still find this old version (or try with the current one, 16.31).Update: Strike that. Game just started crashing again regularly. ☹️
- 6 years ago@SteltekOne Hey, thanks for sharing this, and I'm sorry to hear that you're still crashing.
I think the best we can hope for now is to get some fixes in tomorrow's Season 4 patch. It could get better, or it could get worse but let's hope for the best!- 6 years ago
New NVIDIA drivers were released today (442.19). Can we all install them and see if there's a collective improvement for this group?
