Hello,I'm suddenly experiencing a frequent Apex crash and hoping for some guidance. Brand new PC built about 2 months ago. I've been playing Apex flawlessly on this build since it was assembled. I took the last few weeks off due to a busy schedule and launched the game yesterday to play. I installed the most recent patch, and within the first couple games I experienced a crash to desktop - no error, no freezing before the crash occurs, no warning. The game instantly closes and I'm back at the desktop. I've verified that Windows is completely up to date, verified that the most recent NVIDIA driver is installed, and repaired game files through Origin. DxDiag is attached. Any suggestions?

New patch crashes just as badly and in exactly the same way as before. (I even had a crash on the server loading screen (where it shows the ruined Cap City) today. @VT41 Nice find on the DMP file location! Getting VS now to check them out! Not sure they line up though. (I don't have any DMP files for yesterday, and I crashed multiple times. Same for today where I've had 5 crashes in the last 2 hours, and there's only one dump.)Edit, last 3 dumps are all r5apex.exe: 0xC0000005 - The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.4th last one is: 0xC000001D - The thread tried to execute an invalid instruction.If anyone at Respawn/EA wants the files to check them with symbols, let me know!

Same problem here as well. Game worked fine before. Latest patch with Grand Soiree comes out and now it regularly crashes to desktop, in any game mode, no matter what I'm currently doing in game. Freezes for a second and boom, gone! The game randomly crashes during matches (usually a little further into the match, which is especially frustrating).

Im fairly certain it has to be with the CPU's AVX instructions. For some reason this game is SUPER Sensitive to ANY kind of CPU overclock regardless of voltage/stability etc. If i run an OC greater than 8700k's factory boost of 4700mhz it'll randomly crash to desktop with no error message. When i lock at 4700mhz its 100% no crashes. Confirmed this multiple times over. It may be the reason why many high end rigs are crashing compared to older stuff. The implementation of AVX on this game needs some serious looking into. As a possible temporary solution - I suggest anyone with a high end intel CPU run a minus 1 - 3 AVX offset. See if that makes any difference and gives more stability.

@1Pumpp I think you're spot on here. In trying to diagnose this issue yesterday and wondering about the stability of my overclock, I downloaded OCCT (https://www.ocbase.com/), put it on Large Dataset testing with AVX2 instructions, and it immediately crashed my system, so I knew that I was at the very least having some problems with AVX instructions. Every other game and aspect of my system was stable so I didn't have reason to believe I was having issues. I run with an AVX offset of 0 for my overclock, so I went back in to adjust LLC and core voltage settings and I can now complete a full AVX2 stability test with no errors and relatively low temps. Incidentally, I've not had any Apex crashes yet either... I'll keep playing to see if this was the root cause.

@ekze so basically this is the same error i am and many others are fighting against (Access violation - code c0000005 (first/second chance not available)).We, users, can only do as much and decrease the chances of this error occurring by lowering game graphics quality or conducting voodoo rituals with drivers. The problem needs to be addressed at the core of the game itself *cough*developers*cough*.Don't mess up your PC just because a bunch of trained monkeys can't code ;-)

No luck, First game i played today in ranked and its crashes to desktop with no message.
latest gforce drivers installed and its the same ole crap as before.
Now you get a penalty for dashboarding!!!! thats just unfair as the cant fix there game, If they dont fix it i will get my money back for the new battlepass through a paypal dispute

Just played 3 games, and 3 crashes 🙂 So JOB WELL DONE Respawn/EA.

Running on the newest NVIDIA "Season 4 Ready" drivers. Game is unplayable.

That's a bummer to hear. I've successfully played 4 or 5 games between yesterday and today with no crashes, but that doesn't mean that it's fixed for me. I'll keep trying and report back once I have a larger data set.

6 games 3 crashes now, and my friend who also runs an RTX has no issues.
The game in my opinion season 4 is rubbish, took guns out nerf guns. very sad.

I don't mind the content of the patch, but I'm definitely anxious to get stability issues ironed out. When yours crashes, does it create the apex_crash.txt file in your Documents folder?

For those of you that are crashing: Do you have a G-SYNC compatible display and is it enabled? Is Apex running in full-screen or borderless windowed mode?

I got G-Sync disabled, +fps_max 162 is applied instead.
I disabled every overclock for my PC. So CPU, GPU and RAM are now all at stock speeds. I'd recommend this for everyone here with the "crashing to desktop" issue.
Just managed to play 2 games without crashes, fingers crossed

actually whats weird is that i think we all have msi motherboards, maybe something related to that is causing the issue? same issue with 9900ks, titan rtx, and meg godlike
