PC Controller Issue with Season 22 Apex Legends

I downloaded Apex legends season 22 today. During my first game I notice my controller works perfectly until I open my inventory or attempt to loot a death box. When I do I have no cursor and am unable to use my controller to loot, drop items etc. When i went back to the main menu I was unable to use my controller at the main menu, outside of using the bumpers to toggle tabs. 

I have plugged in my Xbox Wolverine ultimate controller, and a stock PS5 controller. I have uninstalled the game files on EA, Steam, and the new Epic Games; and reinstalled on all 3 with no luck. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the controller drivers with no luck. I have disabled all overlays, as well as alt tabbed multiple times, etc. 

Any help with this would be appreciated as the game is unplayable when it comes to looting, shield swapping, etc.
