If your running your laptop on a bed or anything soft or made of fabric definitely move it onto something like a table. You could try reposting your CPU’s thermal paste but I’m no expert in laptops so I’m not sure if yours will let you access the CPUs cooler.
The laptop is seated on a laptop cooler already, and I have repasted within the last year. I did play a bit of Call of duty Warzone recently and it was running HOT. So maybe the thermal paste was damaged then? Anyway I think I'll have to try repaste again. Or it could just be the laptop getting old.
Have you checked to see if you can adjust the fan curve in your BIOS? If you've got the option to do that it might be worth a shot to try speeding up the fan a bit to see if that helps with the cooling. More airflow coming through might help with the high temperatures.

Download an app called MSI afterburner and setup a custom fan curve there. It’s really easy to do.
There is a shortcut that allows me to ramp up the fans, to what I assume is 100% since it gets pretty loud. Also, initially I had around 200 gb on the hard drive where Apex is located. After freeing up around 300 gb the game seems to be running less in the 90s, and more consistently between 70 and high 80s. Not sure if something had changed when I freed up the space, or I'm just imagining it.
