Progress wiped

Progress is stored on the EA account level, not on individual platforms like PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, etc. This means if you link your platform to a different EA account, you'll lose access to that progress. 

Is there another account you may have played on in the past? It doesn't look like this one had ever launched Apex until recently, so there's likely another EA account with that progress under a different email.

While it's not always going to be possible, you can re-link your original accounts to recover the progress in some cases. If you don't recall or no longer have access to an older account, please contact support directly so they try to help track that down and update any login details or platform links.
