Random crashing
CPU: Intel Core i5-11400F @ 2.6GHz
GPU: MSI RTX 3060 Ti GAMING Z TRIO 8G LHR
RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4 3600 MHz 16GB (8GB x 2)
Motherboard: MSI MAG B560 TORPEDO ATX
My issue is exactly the post that I found on Reddit
While I was playing apex, crashes appeared randomly. Then it shown errors with different code each time: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG 0x887a0005、0x887a0006、CreateTexture2D failed. At first, I found that it is easier to get crash in firing range. About 10 mins in there. In public game, I can usually play 2-3 games before it crashes.
I was hoping it was the driver or update problem so I chose to ignore it. Until today, the crash force my computer to instantly shutdown so I think this is the time I stop playing apex and make this post.
Even though I used every possible solution I can found in the internet trying to fix it, NONE of the solution works.
Like from the Reddit post,
Registry Edit,
reinstalling apex, GPU drivers, steam, origin,
Rolling back GPU drivers,
Running the game as administrator,
changing download software and use the repair tool from both steam and origin,
setting other software( discord, steam, system, etc ) priority, administration setting,
turn on debug mode in the Nvidia control panel,
or even reset my pc...
My pc is newly bought and built in mid August. Checked no overclock set. The first game I downloaded is apex from the pc and I found out this issue. Other games( Dead by daylight, Far Cry 3, League of Legend, OSU) with max graphic setting work fine even I played over 12 hours non-stop. While apex, I tried both Highest and Lowest setting.
I can assume or pretty sure that the problem is cause by the compatibility and configuration from the game Apex or driver with my hardware which is the solution cannot be solved by me.
Please fix this ASAP. I really love this game since it got released.
Edit: I found out that I didn't install the GPU support bracket. After I installed it, it seems to solve the error DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG 0x887a0005 and errors appears less frequently. However, other errors still appear sometimes. Usually when I open apex the first time after the pc restarts and play a few games, it crashes. Also, some crashes start after announcing the champion team before the screen switching to the dropship screen. This does not appear the error code but freeze the apex window. I have to execute apex from task manager.
