I've heard from some that the new NVIDIA driver was the cause of it.

It's important to properly clean up the unstable driver, as reverting to an older version might still bring instabilities because the newer driver doesn't usually get "completely" removed.

It's recommended to use DDU to clean up any drivers before installing the proper driver.

I'd recommend using DDU in this case and then reverting to the previous driver that was working fine.
