Re: APEX LEGENDS Constant Crashing on PS4

Hey all that error is a PS4 error to say that the software crashed

Restart your console:

  • Turn off your console and then turn it back on.

Make sure your game software is up to date:

  • Go to the PlayStation home screen.
  • Highlight the game you're playing and press the Options button on your controller.
  • Select "Check For Update" and install any updates that are available.

Make sure your PS4's system software has the most recent update:

  • Select Settings at the top of the PlayStation home screen.
  • Choose "System Software Update" and allow any system updates to install.
  • Reboot your PlayStation 4.

Clear your PS4's cache:

The PlayStation 4 doesn't actually have a cache to clear. That said: It never hurts to power down/power up your console if you're encountering performance issues in the console.

  1. Press and hold the PlayStation button on your controller.
  2. Select "Turn Off PS4".
  3. Let the PlayStation 4 to fully power down and wait for 10 to 20 seconds.
  4. Restart the PlayStation 4.

 Uninstall/reinstall your game:

  • So you're still having problems? OK, you maywant to think about uninstalling/reinstalling the game experiencing the error.
    • Before you do this, upload your save game to the cloud (or to a USB storage device). That way you won't lose your progress and have to start over once you've reinstalled.
    • OK, once you're ready to uninstall your game data from the console, follow this guide SCEA put together over at their official site.

Reinstall the original hard drive:

  • This is only if you have upgraded your PS4's hard drive (read: replaced it with a larger one). Sony suggests re-installing the original hard drive that came with the console.

If none of these steps have helped, you should reach out to PlayStation Support.

  • Been reaching out to the playstation support.  They can't help either.  This is a problem with ea servers and it isn't being address properly

  • Yeah my game literally freezes on PS4 by death boxes and everything is so delayed like pings and all sound.  Sometimes my gun is out and it won’t the graphic won’t even be there fully. I restarted my PS4 multiple times and uninstalled and reinstalled apps. Arg!!

Does the sound of the game first stops? I can't hear music or guns, only footsteps. Right before the game crashes.

Already reinstalled the PS4 and downloaded the game against, it fixed it for like 5 hours then crashed again.

  • I have ps4 pro an d Apex crashes every 2_3 games ive done everything uninstalled and everything else almost a year later still the same issues how do i fix this

@Rustynailzs I don't know i have xbox but i've heard on ps4 maybe less friends less blue and for now restart app every hour.
  • I’ve literally done all of this and I’m still crashing. I even got a new PS4, hoping that would solve it. And I’m still crashing. I was playing yesterday and had latency issues all day and crashed. I’ve done everything in my will power to fix this. But it gets annoying considering that I’ll be in the middle of a gun fight and I’ll crash. Idk if it’s a audio issue or what but I do not crash on any other game but Apex Legends. And it really needs to be fixed.

  • @EA_Darko This does not work yall shouldnt give this to people the error is ea servers and ps4 connections to them they both blame each other. I have tried everything i do mean everything even trying 4 other ps4. My connection is 1 gig download 70 upload. There is no true fix for this only temporary relief and if u play ranked u get banned from game when this happens and anyone thats in your party. Ea and ps need to get there stuff together

@1blablabla1 I'm getting time delays that are only stacking up after my game crashes in ranked matches. It's almost up to 2 hours now. And when I come back to the lobby after a crash I find they penalized me double negative R.P. so if I was only supposed to loose 36 RP I'm deducted 72 RP. It's ridiculous!
  • Same here I think the most * * part is they're punishing you for the game not being programmed properly not only do you get the good ole "An error has occurred" screen but then they have absolute gall to bam you and double the amount of points you lose!!!!! If and when I play apex again it will be hard to take it seriously because everytime I've been laser focused and actually doing well guess what? "An error has occurred" SMH I was just literally in a ranked match the day before yesterday we made it to top two squads we had circle and it was round five as soon as the last squad pushes "An error has occurred" not only did I get blue screened when I started the app back up I had a 42 minute ban and double the amount of points were taken away from me for something I had no control over? Shortly after that I just stopped playing, being a pathfinder main with over 800 kills about fifty to sixty wins from season one till now I'm done with apex. It had gotten so bad to the point that I was anticipating The good ole "An error has occured"blue screen. Why should I have to expect the game to malfunction its just unacceptable PERIOD.

  • It would take everyone but if we all make a stand maybe they will fix the issue

I’m not sure it’s a PlayStation error. I have the same problems on both my PC and my Xbox. Apex legends is the only game that crashes for me.

  • Havent gotten a single win since i redownloaded the game because i crash almost EVERY SINGLE GAME, EA youre a triple A company and you guys cant fix an issue thats been around since launch!? I got a brand new ps4 and it STILL CRASHES. Ive tried every single option that was presented to me, contacted EA multiple times and they had no idea how to help AND season 4 just launched. Like really? Players are gonna leave just as fast as they came! 🙂

  • Mine two. Apex Legends is the only online, nononline, Battle Royal or non Battle Royal game crashing. It is the weirdest thing.

I'm in the same boat, I finally uninstalled at the start of season 4 after reverting all my Legends and weapons to default skins rebuilding my Ps4 data base, removing my friends, uninstalling and reinstalling the game several times, removing all my games except Apex from my Ps4. The last time I played Apex it crashed 5/6 matches at which point I have decided to uninstall until this problem is acknowledged and proper support and solution is given. This problem has progressively gotten worse each season for me from 1 or 2 times a day, to more matches crash than I finish. Love the game but it is unplayable. Apex is the only game that crashes on my Ps4 with the same error repeatedly.

  • Can yall fix this game  please I even went out and about a ps4 pro

It’s not PS that has the problem tho because every other game runs just fine.

  • its not a error on playstations side. its EA. the game freezes not the console. i can close the app and play other games all but apex legends.
