Re: Crash to Desktop - No Error Log - No Event Viewer

The problem is probably your CPU overclock. I have the same problems sicne day 1, one patch it's all fine and the other the game starts crashing to desktop and the only "fix" is to lower my cpu clocks or increase the voltage. It suxx because every other game I play works flawlesly and my CPU OC is 100% stable in various applications and stress tests.
For example a month ago there was a patch and after it I could dial back my 24/7 CPU overclock and everything was running perfect, keep in mind that I haven't changed anything on my PC, no hw, no software and even no driver or windows updates. Then after they released the small 15mb update (the one for the EALive event charm) the game started crashing again.
You can try to lower your clock by 100-200mhz or increase the voltage (you can go up to 1.35v with that cpu if the temps are ok) or just wait for the Season 10 patch and hope they will fix this mess...

  • It is overclocked to 5.1 ghz using 103 fsb. The voltage needed increase in order to keep stable. So I'll need to lower core and voltage to see if that fixes it.

The pain in the butt here is sometimes I can play 3 arena matches back to back and no issue. But going into trios, it crashes randomly. Is that because the trios uses more cpu than arena ?

  • That was the issue. I lowered my FSB by about 200mhz and still was crashing. So I said screw it, placed a solid 5ghz, and lowered the voltage to the CPU. The game has been running stable ever since. You know I thought it might have been the overclock but that seemed so simple I didn't think that'd be it.

    Thanks for the assistance.

Glad I could help. Just for info i dialed up my standard OC after teh Season 10 patch and it's working again. You can try out your 5.1ghz OC maybe.
