Re: EA app do not understand i am playing apex on steam

@BeratSOIL This is working as intended.

Both launchers track your playtime of the game when launched through the respective platform. (In other words, the EA App doesn't track playtime in Steam and vis versa).

This also extends to the Achievements. You would have to "unlock" them again on any platform you play on, such as:

- EA App
- Steam
- Epic Games
- Xbox
- PlayStation

The Switch doesn't use achievements from what I know of, so that's the only exception. However, the achievements don't have an impact on your progression and most of the achievements should automatically unlock after you "progress" them, (such as dealing damage and being the jump master).

Lastly, the games marked with the Steam tag on the EA App are games you own directly through Steam. These purchases are either cross-platform between the EA App and Steam, or the EA App is required when launching the game through Steam.

@BeratSOIL Since Apex Legends is a free to play game, when you had downloaded it through the EA App to play, it was marked as being owned through the EA App.

While playing on Steam, you sadly don't have access to the same list of friends. This is true on console as well. My friends on my Switch don't show up on my PC unless I had added them in-game from my PC.

The EA App could access your Steam friends list as there's a way to link to your Steam friends in-game. However, its outdated and doesn't work. I had to relink my Steam friends list in-game as it was showing players I was no longer friends with and then it refused to let me relink the Steam friends list.

Note: For clarification, I mean the linking of the friends list in-game only, not the linking of your EA and Steam account, (that's a different type of link done through myaccount.ea.com)

As for being able to play Apex Legends without the EA App, this is because Steam uses its own launcher to launch the game. Games like "Need For Speed: Heat" on Steam requires the EA App to be installed so that Steam can launch it through the EA App. (I have no idea why it does this either, as it makes no sense to me).
