Fps drops after update
PC Specs:
- Intel Core i5-14600K
- NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti (issue also reproduced on RTX 3070 PCs)
- 32GB DDR5 6000 MT/s
- Windows 11
- Latest NVIDIA driver installed
Issue:
After the latest Apex Legends update, I am experiencing severe FPS drops on multiple identical PCs. Before the update, Apex was running at 220+ FPS. After the update, FPS drops to around 60–80 FPS when looking in certain directions, while looking in other directions can still give 200+ FPS.
The issue is reproducible in the Firing Range and on multiple maps. GPU usage remains around 40% during the FPS drops, CPU and GPU temperatures are normal, and no CPU core is maxed out.
Troubleshooting performed:
- Updated to the latest NVIDIA driver
- Tested DX11
- Lowered all graphics settings
- Disabled V-Sync
- Verified RAM is running at 6000 MT/s
- Reset Apex configuration by renaming the Respawn folder
- Cleared shader caches
- Tested on multiple identical PCs
Other games such as CS2, Overwatch 2, and Marvel Rivals run normally. The issue only affects Apex Legends and started immediately after the latest update.
