Hello,
Since the arrival of season 13 my teammates and I have been multiplying the problems on Apex with a crash every 2-3 games on average in Battle Royal mode. The errors whose screenshots are available as attachments at the bottom of this message begin with:
- 0x887A006 - DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG
- CreateShaderResourceView failed in GRT_Task_DoCreate
- CreateTexture2D failed for GRT_Task_DoCreate
Also there are many issues with lags, disconnects and 4-10s rollback while I was running in season 12 at around 18-20ms. I tried to:
- Disconnect my box from the mains for several minutes (as well as the computer)
- Unplugged / reconnected the Ethernet cable (I do not play in wifi)
- Updated my Freebox Pop from version 4.5.6 to version 4.5.7
- Taken a subscription to WTFast with the Apex configuration profile to optimize the connection
But all this without success. I have a 5 Gb/s fiber connection for downloading and 700 Mb/s for sending. I am also attaching a screenshot of a speed test of my connection. We play in voice with Discord and there is no connection problem on Discord even during the lag on Apex, a sign that it comes from the side of the game and not from our connection in general. My ping is hovering between 27-60ms right now on Apex.
Today in an Arena I got disconnected after a huge lag. I tried to reconnect immediately to the game but I had 4 consecutive server connection error messages to finally see a message that the game is over and that it is no longer possible to join it (while I was in voice on Discord with my teammate who was still in the second round) and finally penalty for leaving the game... I'm disgusted.
Regarding the crash issue:
My teammates and I have completely different PCs (each a laptop, one with a GTX 1660 Ti and the other an RTX 3070, I have a desktop configuration) and they have the same errors see others even crazier, for example this morning one of my teammates had the message that he had completely removed the graphics card from his PC! He relaunched direct Apex and was able to reconnect to the game in progress, but yesterday I couldn't come back after a crash and got a 30 point penalty for leaving the game...
Is there any communication about this? I see a lot of reports like this on Twitter since season 13 arrived. I'm playing with a desktop 3080 Ti in 512.59 Nvidia driver.
I should point out that none of my squad members had any issues before Tuesday night's Season 13 update.
Here are the tests performed that did not fix the crashing issue:
- Recheck game files
- Uninstalling Apex + Origin and Reinstalling Apex via Steam
- Update graphics card driver 512.59 to 512.77
- Increase virtual memory size (I went from 4 GB to 12 GB of memory after following this article
- Disable Origin's overlay when I was still using it and Discord's was already disabled
- Added a DWORD (32-bit) Value TdrLevel registry key with a value of 0, then restarted the computer and manually updated the graphics driver with this video
All this without success on my computer and those of my teammates.
My setup:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
- GPU: RTX 3080 Ti Founder's Edition
- MLB: B550 Aorus Pro
- RAM: 4x8 GB Corsair Vengeance PRO SL 3600 Mhz CL18
- SSD: Sabrent Rocket M2 (1TB) + Samsung 980 M2 (1TB) + Samsung 960 M2 (1TB)
- OS: Windows 11 version 21H2 22000.675 fully updated as of the date of the problem
- Drivers: Nvidia 512.77 driver fully updated as of issue date. All drivers updated with the utility touslesdrivers. com
There's no overclocking on the graphics card or CPU, and everything was running smoothly for years on Apex. It all started with the arrival of season 13.
