@AAMONTENSEI wrote:Apex is legit the only game that I have problems with most of the time.
I do play a fair amount of multiplayer games & I'd say of all of the games the two games with the most inconsistent & problematic performance issues are Apex & Fallguys.Even a game like Dead by Daylight (5 years old) not known to have the best servers runs a lot smoother than Apex a lot of the time.
I've been an Apex player since season 1 at a time when Predator teams didn't exist & we were all finding our feet with the game & I don't recall any significant performance/server related issues. It wasn't until season 6 with the introduction of cross-play that I started experiencing high ping servers on a frequent basis to the extent that for nearly half the season I was unable to play the game & in the occasional game I could play I'd often suffer from the old game freeze & 'being kicked off the server mid-game' .Seasons 7 & 8 had their issues but were less problematic & disastrous as season 6.I honestly couldn't believe Apex could top the s£*t-show that was season 6 but along came season 9 to blow it out the water.I need not repeat how bad season 9 was in terms of performance/server issues as we've all been discussing it here but it was the first season that I decided not to buy the season/battle pass as one of the reasons was I didn't believe I was going to complete it due to the amount of time I was unable to play the game.I've always seen buying the battle pass as a sign of not just putting money back into the game but also as a sign of respect for the game & the effort put into it & less so about the skins I'd get.It was another big reason unfortunately as to why I never bought the battle-pass for S9 because of the inability to recognize/acknowledge & attempt to fix these issues came way too late in the season made me lose respect for the game somewhat.Season 10 unfortunately seems a continuation of the problems that blighted season 9 of which I've only been able to play a small handful of games.
It's just sad that billion dollar company are unable to fix their own game, yeah it's definitely not easy, but man it's been 2 years... I wish this game could run smoothly, it would be a lot more fun and enjoying to play. And dude I have my fps locked at 138 fps, it never drops below that and I mean 100+fps should already feel smooth right? but no game just feels choppy and stuttery I don't even know how to describe this sh*t.

Same.
I personally don't get 100% CPU usage but it seems as though, since the genesis update, my stuttering is tied to whenever I get ping spikes. I usually have 2% packet loss to all the EU servers and high ping.
Before the genesis update I wouldn't have packet loss and ping between 20-30. Now I always have some packet loss and like 45-70 ping which fluctuates like crazy and causes stutters.
I've got a 2080 super, R7 3700x, NVME SSD, capped at 138fps, and playing 1440p with all the lowest settings yet I still get horrible stuttering on this game only.
- 4 years ago@Jad-SZN Yes, ping spikes cause stuttering. And sometimes just some parts of the map (especially WE), there are visible fps drops. This has never been the case before until Respawn shipped the genesis update.

The update patch is nothing more than a nerf to the Prowler (bring back selectfire) & a few small bug fixes to Seer & bringing back Kings Canyon as an alternate map,as for performance/ server issues absolutely nothing, not a sausage.I managed to get several games in yesterday & today whilst the data center ping was low but as soon as the update patch was installed on my PS5 this evening all data centers were all over 100ms ping & as soon as I attempted the firing range the ping was fluctuating between 105ms - 405ms back & forth with the moving targets in the background in constant stutter mode.
New season same old problems.

I can confirm it has gotten worse, now the lobby is stuttering and freezing the GPU (CPU at 100% as usual).
It started with Genesis update, but then after one week it disappeared until the new season Emergence.
So I believe it must be on the server side because it only happens when I start a game or when switching game modes. (code:net errors, high ping, prediction errors...)

I was considering buying this battle-pass season but not in this state. Respawn should take a whole season fixing and optimizing the game.
- 4 years ago@TrueTripleH I confirm this. The cpu's now fully loaded when I run apex. I can hear all my laptop's fans exhausting themselves in the lobby. I tried to play a game after the patch. What can I say? We're in deep s h i t. I don't think respawn is going to address any of these issues sooner.
There was also an Nvidia update that I was excited about, thinking it could improve performance, but I can't blame my gpu's manufacturer. It's this pile of s h i t of Respawn that needs to deliver a fix. - 4 years ago
Look at what this game does to my cpu. I had stutters but not this much CPU usage.

I made a thread on Reddit again. Hopefully, they'll notice it. It's been 45 mins and only 4 upvotes lmao. Main sub doesn't care about such things.
- 4 years ago@AbysmalEzGame anyone that can upvote it there do it, the devs do not look at the forums here, but are always dwelling at reddit
- 4 years ago@AbysmalEzGame try to share this post so it would be at least in the 'hot' section of the sub. I guess that way we'll get their attention? Thank you guys!

Uninstalling Geforce experience made it better for me
- 4 years ago@PacMan7777 maybe is coincidence because the problem is with the CPU usage not GPU usage..... kinda sucks but the truth is that only Respawn can fix this ....

still investigating lol

Did you guys notice something apart from the high cpu usage? I asked my friends (they don't have this problem on their PCs) yesterday about their disk usage, and they said apex uses about 0.5/1.2 MB/s. Then I checked back one of the screenshots I made and boom, apex used 44-50 MB/s of hdd. But why? What's the reason? So alongside high cpu usage, there's an abuse of our HDD/SDD. I wonder what they could be doing while writing on our disk with that speed?
- 4 years ago@AbysmalEzGame Go back to the post where I uploaded the screenshots or on Reddit thread, you'll see my disk usage averages 46 MB/s. It's so unusual.

mine is on 90-120 mb/s (SSD) at first im thinking of it as "the game is just preloading things" but who knows.

Hey guys, so after i wrote those comments, i uninstalled geforce experience, then windows prompted an update (KB5005033). I installed it, and now the game isn't using as much cpu or disk as it did in those screenshots. Stuttering reduced. I am not sure if this is going to last or if it's a fix. I am treading carefully. Hopefully the residue of stuttering that's still in there gets patched as well. Please report back if you did these steps and let me know if your cpu/disk usage is less drastic.
1- Uninstall Geforce exp.2- Install windows cumulative update 21h1 or 20h2 (KB5005033). It's about 600 MB.
Disclaimer: This is not a fix by Respawn, and I think the problem is going to get back as long as Respawn does not patch it. Yes, it reduces stutters, the game becomes a little playable as opposed to earlier, but I do not trust this will forever fix the game's inherent bugs. So Respawn needs to step in to fix this for good. But try this and report back please!
- 4 years ago@AbysmalEzGame The win10 update was rolled out on the 10th, but my laptop just got it. But I am not sure which has reduced the stuttering, the win10 update or uninstalling Geforce. Anyway, this is not to be thought of as a fix. It's just something temporary.
- 4 years ago@AbysmalEzGame yep, my HDD uses 99% when the game stutters hard...
CPU- 99/100%
HDD- 99%
GPU- 30/60 (but is only a GTX 1060 so it's normal...) - 4 years agoI would like each of you to be able to play the game normally without fps drops, stuttering, best regardss
- 4 years ago
Being the sucker that I am, I cleaned out all my cached files and did a fresh install... 100% CPU but I thought I would try it. Already uninstalled again... absolutely unplayable... same exact computer that was playing it fine prior to Genesis but I don't know... aliens I guess..
