The graphics mode setting is greyed out for me?

Hello, I have a bit of an odd situation. I'm trying to enable the graphics mode setting in my game to try out performance mode, but it's greyed out (excuse the quality of the image; I'm having issues logging into my PS account, so I had to take a picture of my TV screen).

Here's what I've checked/ done to try and fix this issue:

- I have a PS5 version of the game downloaded

- I checked to make sure I had the 120 Hz Output setting enabled -- it's set to automatic -- on my console

- I ensured my TV could handle higher resolution -- it's a 4k TV

- Thanks to another user's help, I know I have a 2.0 HDMI (from my understanding, it should be able to handle 120 Hz)

- I tried doing the obvious restarting my console, reinstalling the game, etc. -- nothing seems to work

- I tested the 120 Hz setting on another game, and it worked perfectly fine

If there's any additional information you need, let me know. I'll answer to the best of my ability.

    Thanks @SooSunni!

Just looking at the TCL website, this is the model that came up for me with that description.

Under the specifications it's showing the display supports 60Hz, which would explain why the performance option isn't available in-game sadly.

    Hi @SooSunni,

Thanks for all the details you've provided!

The performance option should be available if the connected display supports 120Hz. I see you mentioned the resolution but not the refresh rate for that TV.

Do you happen to know the model of your TV? If everything else meets the requirements and that option is still unavailable, the more info we can grab to pass along the better, thanks!
  • Hello! Thanks for the hasty response. I have a "TCL 43" CLASS 4-SERIES SMART GOOGLE TV" (excuse the capitals; I copied and pasted this directly from the website, lol).

  • Ah, nuts. That's all good. It's not the end of the world that I can't enable the setting. Thanks for all your help, anyway! I appreciate it. 🙂

  • But it used to be available im on series s and I tryed both options settled on balanced as it looks sharper and more in focus. But then after an update or two I noticed a distinct blurr to the graphics and so assumed my setting was on performance. On checking I found my settings locked on balanced but still looking all blurry like its on performance mode. What gives. As I know my brand new monitor supports either as I tested both options with noticable differences. Please help!!!
