Re: What to do if your Apex Legends account got banned or suspended

Hello everyone,

I'm creating this post in hopes of gaining visibility and connecting with other players who may have been affected by the March ban wave. On March 15, my account was permanently banned for "Gameplay Enhancement." I appealed the ban immediately after receiving it, but the response I received appeared generic and did not address any of the specific circumstances of my case. As a result, I still have no clear understanding of what evidence was used to determine that I violated the rules.

I want to be very clear: I have never knowingly used cheats, hacks, scripts, macros, bots, or any third-party software designed to provide a gameplay advantage.

After spending months trying to understand what may have triggered the ban, one of the only explanations I can think of is that my account may have been flagged due to unusual behavioral patterns rather than actual cheating software.

Leading up to the ban, I experienced a significant increase in ranked performance, climbing from plat all the way up to predator within 1 season . However, this progression was achieved through a very large number of games and a substantial time investment. There were no sudden hardware changes, no software modifications, and nothing else that I can identify which would explain a Gameplay Enhancement violation.

I understand that anti-cheat systems are designed to identify suspicious activity, and I fully support efforts to remove actual cheaters from the game. However, no automated system is perfect, and I believe there is a possibility that my account was incorrectly flagged.

The purpose of this post is not to attack EA or the anti-cheat team. My goal is simply to:

-Bring attention to my case.

-Find out whether other legitimate players experienced similar bans during the March wave.

-Encourage a manual review of my account.

-Better understand what may have caused this action.

If any EA staff member or community manager is able to review this situation, I would sincerely appreciate another look at my case. I have invested countless hours into the game and would never intentionally risk my account by using prohibited software.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

    Hey GetAJobNowPlease,

I can absolutely understand wanting to check any other possible routes to have something reviewed, but I'm afraid the forums isn't a path to have a separate investigation. The only team able to review or discuss account actions would be the Terms of Service team, via an appeal.

Also completely understandable that you're looking for more details, but that's simply not information the team can provide. They'll let you know the category of the violation and more general examples of what behavior falls into that category, but they won't be able to provide specifics like which program was detected or at which specific time. Those details are, unfortunately, extremely valuable to those that would wish to bypass the detection methods.

You're more than welcome to submit another appeal to have a different member of the Terms of Service team review that ban again. Each review is manual. We do not automate reviews, though the ToS team may use templates when sending a response. As long as you haven't reached a point where they've stated no additional reviews will take place, sending another appeal will have a different ToS member investigate and get back to your through your case history.
