my mic worked yesterday but now it doesnt but only with apex legands
I am in the middle of troubleshooting the mic problem just found that mine was blocked by windows security had to use start button/settings/privacy/Microphone and then found it turned off for all programs. no support for apex legends under programs to allow, (fingers crossed) but it's working for now.. 🙂
I fixed mine by going to the same path Start > Settings> Sound and making sure my input device was selected as my mic instead of my VR headset mic which it changed to in between play sessions.
Downloading a software called Voicemod worked for me. It's bad that we have to go through this to fix it, but it is what it is.
I used to use a Scarlett Focusrite 2i4 1st edition, and this program fixed my problem all the time.
Then I upgraded to a MKII ID14 Audio Interface and it seemed that the problem now was gone and Apex could read my mic just through normal audio input.
The problem is back now. Probably for one of these 2 reasons. 1, I changed the input I used for the mic in the interface, to input 2. Can't confirm it yet cuz now Input 1 is for instruments. And 2, now I use a USB-C cable to connect the interface.
After a few hours of troubleshooting, I gave up and Voicemod fixed it again.
