I can just as easily ignore it as use it so no biggie. It will be good again to see GG from/to the opposing team in chat.
Yeah I will definitely leave this off by default so will a lot of people so it won’t be all chat it will be some people chat. Or people will just be talking to themselves because some people can’t see it.
- @ForumUser It all requires resources, and chat is in no way a priority when you consider any premade squad can use an alternate program to talk.
Thinking back though, it was said this is more for text than voice. Text I can ignore. Chat is the one I hope they never implement. I've left online games because a teammate sounded like they were eating their controller. It's like me standing behind someone with the noisiest bag of chips while you're trying to concentrate.
No classes. No chat.

Well, despite some of the other apparently "tender" folks in this thread I'll be turning it on for sure, let the "GGs" and "Nice Shots!" commence!
As well as the usual ignorant crap you find daily on the internet anyway and of course the inevitable "hackusations" let them all fly, I for one can take it 🙂

I don't know where many of you have been. Cross team chat has been a useful and entertaining feature of all past BF games on PC. It has been wanted and it has been fought for since the insipid start of this title. This game is only getting good now because the features which were not in it at inception are just now being reinstated and cross team chat is one of them. I think console players must not be used to it, because early BF was a PC only game, and later titles available to console probably didn't have this feature for lack of a keyboard. I will certainly turn it on when it is available and I suggest you all try it, you might like it.
@Ironhead841gg will finally really mean something when it is also directed at the other team as a sign of sportsmanship.
Now if they would just make VOIP for squads into something that works reliably. It can really help coordinate squad play when it works and it is used right. That's not all there are other things on my wish list.

Yeah I agree, imho if they make it optional then I am not sure how anyone can have a problem with it.
It's there for everyone who wants it and there's an Off Switch for everyone that doesn't, simple. !I have always been an advocate for more choice in BF2042.
