@Stew360 the concept of 128-players plus what you describe sounds great. It's what I expected before launch. The problem is that somehow 2042 does not lend itself to teamwork. Others in this forum have been vocal about it and explained it better than I would.
So the result is 64 players going about randomly against 64 players going about randomly, in huge maps. There's just no excitement or feeling of "we're jointly fighting for this objective." Imagine the Greeks against the Persians back then. Wouldn't it be a joy to emulate that feeling.

Yep and now the DICE staff responsible for the game try to make it as if 128 player and scale is the problem while its the design aspect that they try to build on SOLO and lone wolfing instead of teamplay and giving us better option to organise and play decent combines arms .. Game like MAG have nailed this aspect .. with proximity chat with team mates and ennemy .. Command structure , lobby up to 32 players , clan support etc.. this is where its lacking ...
64 players maps always end up into some sort of steamroll and spawn trap from one side or the other . lack of vehicles lead to infantry steam roll and so on ... DICE need to double down on scales and make better command structure to come back on the BF2 roots ! Enough of this lone wolf COD style COD BF3 as created ..
