Bloom post-patch

Bloom is still causing weapons to miss randomly. I cannot stand this function. I played a ton of Rainbow Six and love that I can hit what I'm aiming at. If I miss, I review my video and often find my shots were off. Nope, not with this system. This is really causing me to play less and less of 2042.

  • Bloom was part of the issue but apparently there are several problems acting on gunplay.

Personally been playing Halo Infinite while waiting on the big December patch that supposedly touches on those problems. Probably better to save yourself the frustration and wait until then to play.

  • @TTZ_DipsyFor reference, here are the patch notes - https://www.ea.com/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/news/battlefield-2042-update-notes-2

First note on the list - "Bullet spread has been reduced on all weapons except Shotguns. This should result in better accuracy during gameplay"

And going by the contents of the list and number of changes, SOMETHING should have a noticeable difference between launch and post-update. I'm not sure how it was on PC and next gen consoles, but I could not tell a difference on the PS4. I just gave up and went back to Battlefield 5 where it *mostly* works properly.

@MarkedByAshesI agree. I’m not seeing much difference at all. This bloom system just needs to go.

Yes this is just a game, but in real life even the best shooters can’t put multiple rounds in the same spot due to a multitude of factors - so in that way modeling random deviations  to bullet flight is a little touch of realism.

  • It's got to be because there's zero Aim Assist for console players, so in order to make the game more balanced they used a stupid mechanic.

That mechanic is total RNG on hip fire or ADS meaning you miss you still have a chance of that miss actually being a headshot.

So mouse and keyboard players are more severely affected especially those with very good aim.

People think it's hit reg issue but i'm telling you it's intended so sprayers have a great chance of getting an RNG kill.

  • @DCAT627 Let's be honest, how many people are playing 2042 for the realism? Robot dogs with turrets, hovercrafts climbing walls, soldiers flying through hurricanes, jumping out of a jet to fire a rocket launcher and climbing back into the cockpit... 🤣

The idea is for the game to be fun. But not hitting a target when you are perfectly lined up is seriously frustrating. I've even switched to single fire and it still doesn't help.
