Nobody can convince me that breakthrough is not just a mode where attackers farm up kills on defenders.Playing offense in this mode is honestly boring because you just run over the other team and barely even have to try.DICE needs to take a good look at this mode and the map layouts and spawns and ticket regen and ticket count because it barely counts as a game right now. And nobody wants to play defense. Playing defense isn't fun. You just die and get run over by the offense. If they arent going to do anything to fix or rebalance this mode just make everyone spawn as attacker and put a bunch of AI on defense. It will be almost the same experience but nobody will be stuck having to play defense.

@direct3r I just dont understand why the attackers need to be resupplied at every sector when they are already at a very clear advantage. If they were only resupplied before the final sector or only resupplied in one of the sectors it might help.If the attackers arent dying and are just steamrolling the defense then thats one thing, but when you manage to kill 100 of them and they start the next sector like nothing happened at all it really feels unfair as defense.Limit offense to one reinforcement per match and I think it would help with balance.

Some points are almost impossible to defend (B1 on current Breakaway comes to mind) and also some general game mechanics, like the ability to call a vehicle on a roof and just snipe from there, etc.I enjoy playing defense more than offense, because it's a challenge and I learn a lot about the offender's tactics I can use in another match. Breakthrough needs to be reworked and rebalanced. Its a joke

@SpudBug Honestly I like the idea of Breakthrough and I play it the most but it does need some serious work. I think a big issue I've seen is there really isn't any balancing of the lobbies. Meaning 1 team usually is so much better than the other team. Most of the time, it's the attackers run through the defenders and the games over very quick, or the defenders won't budge and the attackers are stuck on the objective until the timer runs out. I'd say 1 and every 10 or 15 games is actually fun and competitive.

@SpudBug it is problem since breakthrough was introduced/the game came out. There were sometimes rounds that lasted like ~5minutes because attackers just rushed through without any problems.
It got better since then through different things like moving points/more defense objects from like 95%-5% ratio for attackers winning to something like 80-20% but it's still far from optimal.
I see rarely defenders winning (except on some maps where points have 3 entrances and are not or barely accessible by vehicles), moreover there are still some rounds where the match doesn't last 10minutes because attackers just rush trough everything

@Trokey66 The narrow map-nature of breakthrough maps combined with so many players doesnt help either. It always turns into a boring meatgrinder. DICE needs to be more harsh on max playercount, too many hurts gameplay.

I've always found asymmetric game modes to be miserable experiences in Battlefield.
BC1/BC2 Rush being the exception.
I'd like to see DICE set a 50/50 win rate target for each side. At the end of each week DICE would review the win% on each map and adjust player counts.
Defense win% on Breakaway at 30% at the end of week one? Make the teams 31/33.
Defense win% at 43% at the end of week two? Make the teams 30/34.
Asymmetric player counts for an asymmetric mode.
Allow me to believe I got a fair shot at winning regardless of which side I get assigned.

@Wargame_Enj0yer These maps aren't narrow at all though. There is all kinds of space outside of a direct path to the objective areas which I often see as a distraction to many players on the servers.

The maps are not narrow enough for this type of game mode in my opinion. Not that this would stop people from shying away from the objective areas as we saw in Battlefield 1 with Frontlines, Supply Drop, and Operations.

Frontines should have been one of the most exciting game modes in the series, but it was often dragged down by players that just sat around the map and refused to engage at the "frontlines."

Sometimes we put too much pressure on the devs to make unnecessary changes when 50 to maybe even 60 percent of the enjoyment in multiplayer games like these comes from the players themselves and how they go about playing the game modes.

Put two teams against one another in Breakthrough that are trying to win and these problems don't exist. I know because I have played so much Breakthrough that I have experienced this several times.

So what needs to be done to make sure that this is the Battlefield experience on a regular basis?
