How about instead they stop being lazy and releasing broken products so they dont have to spend over a year fixing it so they can actually put out more content. Its not a live service issue it a lack of quality from the initial release issue. - Anobix3 years agoSeasoned Ace

the amount of content we are receiving is severely underwhelming.
DICE either give us more than a single map per season or bring back the premium model as this drip fed content with the seasons sucks.
Honestly, I'd be all for it if it meant we could go back to getting the quantity of content that we would expect to see. Maybe make it so that weapons and unlocks are part of premium but maps are for everyone? That would at least not split the playerbase. And because weapons are (for the most part) close enough across the board, the variety that you would have by getting more choices wouldn't be a P2W scenario.

Just because Dice can't manage to maintain a liveservice model, we don't need a premium DLC package, Apex, CoD and the others can do that too. Besides, many will have bought Gold+ Edition anyway, which in principle is also like premium, they have our money and what comes out? NOTHING!
You do not go in real life in a store and get the goods only after 1 year later....
- R1ckyDaMan193 years agoSeasoned Ace@WedgeTornado I agree, battlefield was fine as it was before EA told Dice to go trend chasing.
Bf3 was fine, bf4 was fine, bf1 started to go south with lack of platoon features.
BFV was terrible content wise.
The live service model has strangled this game.
Almost all of the terrible decisions in this game are to try and make it fit into a live service. - Ne0tax3 years agoNew Vanguard
And what does that have to do with liveservice? Just because Dice/EA can no longer deliver for years does not mean that it is due to liveservice, funny that all BF parts before 3x had more content at release EA has simply already canceled BFV and BF2042 before release otherwise you can not explain this dog * here.
I agree 100%
Having now been expsied to both models it is painfully obvious that EA/Dice put out much more content of higher quality during the period when they used the premium DLC model.

- @xXHappy_PuppyXx The player population is already split with all the different game modes 2042 has. AOW, Exodus conquest, BT, Zero Hour conquest, hazard zone, and portal. That is 7 different modes that split the population. It might not be an issue if there were more players. I for one say get rid of some of these modes. If it were up to me I would just have conquest and merge AOW into portal.

Hazard Zone is effectively dead, so can't really blame it for splitting the playerbase though.
If instead we had a rotation of maps for what is Exodus Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush with servers that can run TDM/etc then it would be fine. As it is, some of it is entirely redundant due to design choices to not have community-ran persistent servers that just lets the player base find servers to play on. or just hit 'quick play' and get slotted into one.

@CantGetRightSo your solution is to split it even more... ya that makes sense.
Becuase all those modes now would be split between new maps and old maps so now you instead of 7 ways to split the population you have 14. That's just with one expansion add another and you split it 21x
Again the issue is releasing buggy broken products. BF4,BF1,BF5. 2042 all needed months of fixs for core game issues.
Another problem is the frostbite engine. Every game studio out side of DICE has complained what a bug ridden mess it is to program for.
Live service is not the issue.
