Since the latest update, Dozer has been buffed allowing him to bash players @ 2 meters distance. This has become quite annoying because it doesn't allow the opponent to escape on a 1vs1 situation and it's not fun to get bashed by someone that is not in range. They should return to the 1 meter bash distance prior the latest update. Saying that I think the updated moving speed while equipping the shield is a good improvement.
Yeah, whilst it has been fun to see the panic when you turtle around the corner, the range is too much. Just needs dialing back enough to allow players to jump-shot over the top of the shield. Currently they stand no chance.
I am quite sure that it is not 2 meters from the PoV of the one doing the bashing.
This is the equivalent of being shot after having gone around corners.
Perhaps you should also try some things that hurt from from bellow like flames or some heavy shot such as rockets.
Or you could try to not go around alone, Dozer is a free kill as long as someone shoots at him from somewhere other than the front.
For ages we had what was called the Dozer-tier for on the bottom of the specialists tier based on how bad he was.
Perhaps one can argue that the specialist gimmicks are unbalanced shenanigans but at as long as we still have them we might as well keep their unbalanced shenanigans equal to each other
Ive never really thought Dozer as bottom tier, but i wouldnt be against two hits from the front, or OHK from behind enemies, just like everyone else when it comes to melee. I mean ive gotten double and multikills with one bash on grouped up enemies....thats pretty stupid really lol. Not to mention you can shield bash into a lat4v....through the vehcile door no less, and get a kill......the mechanic is pretty wonky, ive put the shield through players and it not count too tho, so it is what it is i guess. probly all that net code and hit reg and jazz
As stated above, I think the overall buff Dozer got with the latest update is welcomed (improvement of speed and ziplining while equipping the shield). The one I cannot stand is the range of the bash. I think by improving the speed and movement while equipping the shield you gave to a Dozer player enough tools to be performing better than before. Prior the update, when in good hands, a Dozer player could have performed really well, when equipping smoke grenades and play to the strength of the specialist.
Now is really hard to perform a well-timed jump when in proximity to Dozer to avoid the bash and try to outplay the opponent, especially if you think Dozer can now covers 4m left to right and 2 m in front. After playing the game for a 1000hrs since launch you can definitely have a feel when something is not right.
A shield is a defensive weapon, as such it should never be a 1HK, it should have weak offensive capabilities as a tradeoff for it's superb defensive power. Since the new patch I see a lot of players using it as an effective offensive weapon, obviously because of the absurd 1HK, the ridiculous range and movement speed.
They messed up bad.
