Yes, the game needed at least a few months, but DICE always goes on vacation at this time and while these features should have indeed been here at launch in my opinion, the things people want can't just be pulled out of thin air in a week.
Something as simple as creating a new gun skin can take forever the way they need to bounce information off of eachother so we unfortunately just need to hang tight for the time beingProblem is everyone all of the sudden became programmers overnight and have trivialized the process.

@Kean_1111took the words right out of my mouth, I think my biggest issue with the response is not the content but the way he went about it and then following up with a somewhat jaded and childish sarcasm afterwards. Then this is followed up by tons of constructive feedback not being responded to but then instead he responded to trolls.
I don't necessarily think this is a company issue anymore, I think this is a people issue. Developers are human too just like the community and unfortunately much like the community they are capable of just as much bad behaviour and generally childish remarks. His approach is not something a company should allow frankly, not because he shouldn't be free to do so but because it further confuses the intent of the company and it will also create the perspective that the developers just do not care. People don't want their favourite franchise to die and if I am completely honest it is on track to doing so if this keeps up. But as I've posted to others in the community and youtubers, doing this over the Christmas period and expecting immediate changes is just silly. But some accountability needs to be had regarding how it released and the clear lack of content and unfinished nature of the game. We know there was a class system but then was replaced by Specialists for no other reason than to likely compete with warzone and because the class system wasn't finished. Then you have the maps, seemingly barren and a default "tornado" on every map as some sort of place holder for that. The balance, the lack of optimisation. I am not saying there should be a witch hunt or something but this is worse than how cyberpunk 2077 turned out in my opinion, the game just isn't as big as cyberpunk and cyberpunk turned out better. Nobody should be attacking the devs for it though, project leads and higher ups (marketing included as they have way more power than they think) need to take responsibility for this mess. But the first step is to acknowledge the mess, the second is to work on fixing it.
This was my thread on how to improve it, a bit hopeful over a couple of patches but maybe the next couple of months:

If nothing else this should be a clear example of why you should never try to release 3 games at once (2042, Hazard zone, Portal) the best thing they can do right now is acknowledge they screwed up and start making changes over time. Its the only way they will win back any good will from the community at this point. - Man_iLoveFishing4 years agoSeasoned Ace@TTZ_Dipsy There you go, we released broken or a game in unknown stage almost just before holidays, charged for early access and after 3 patches critical bugs still exists, going on vacation and wonder why are players full of hate?
1. Don't sell unfinished product.
2. Before going in quiet mode, at least should inform to customers something. It's freaking wrong to be in silence and keep customers waiting. Habits... - Ahhnuld4 years agoSeasoned Ace
@MurkaZzzand I think many people voicing defense here forget that we paid for a product that was advertised and expected to deliver a certain product, based on past performance, but failed to do so and instead released something that was certainly not ready for consumption. They are not doing any favors, they are correcting what was already paid for. Thats just business, or should be.
Now I will admit that I do like many aspects of the game and continue playing. I think it has a lot of potential and yes, I can be patient for the corrections and functionality to be coded in. But in my mind, the sense of urgency from EA should be communicated and some good faith made to keep the audience. - @Ahhnuld I don't think the issue is the fact that people complained about the product, more of the fact of HOW some in the community complained about it. I mean just look at some of the titles of the posts in the forums, they are not very constructive. Many make subjective remarks and trivialize the magnitude of work is needed to fix things.
There are different ways to address the issue, unfortunately the "loud minority" is overshadowing people who truly want the game to get better. I think EA's initial frustrated response was justified and if people are butthurt about it, they should first stop throwing stones themselves. - TTZ_Dipsy4 years agoLegend
Should never buy something based on past performance (especially after V). People also need to understand that most of the developers love the series and want to see it grow - features being outright removed and focus put on specific modes and agendas is an upper management type of deal

Almost every BF game is buggy at launch and in a rough state going back 20 years. And DICE has supported every BF game, going back 20 years, with ~18 months of bug fixes, improvements and content drops.
Your amnesia seems to happen within weeks becasue you also forget that EA provided a beta for everyone to play, they offered a 10 hr trial for $5 thru EA Play, they have a no questions asked ~48 hour refund policy, and they communicated what was going to be in the game beforehand. Also you forget you weren't forced to buy the game at launch. You forget that within days if not hours, Youtube and reddit are littered with footage and comments on the state of the game.
Must be tough having amnesia set on so quickly. 🙂
- CPU_UK4 years agoSeasoned Ace@M4tt_Macabre You do know they brought Vince in because he got micro transaction working on Apex... you know that 'Store' we have in BF, he's there to fill that up, not fix the game.

you can only blame yourself.
Why do they need to hold your hand and tell you every little fix and content drop that is going to come out for the year or two ahead? What good is that going to do you?
Their communication didn't work for you with the launch of the game. Why would it work now? Why would you want to set yourself up for disappointment once again when some of their content and fixes are delayed or not as good as you could imagine them to be? Why would you suddenly take their word now when you seemingly say that you took their word before the game came out that it was going to everything you wanted it to be?
Do you not also recall they always patch and add content to their BF games, for a good ~18 months after launch? Do you too have amnesia?
Why are so many here coming down with amnesia?
- Ahhnuld4 years agoSeasoned Ace@trip1ex You sure do assume a lot, rather than ask questions to understand.
My memory serves me just fine. I have been playing this franchise for the past 20 years, and I recall all the patches and updates to improve the game. What I do not recall is any of them missing major key components at launch, and after having paid full price for a release, not a beta. My opinions are based on my own observations and experiences, not whats on reddit, youtube, or any other medium.
It appears based on your snarky tone that you are just trolling and not adding any real value to the discussion. And if you expect that a company release a final version at full price, but fails to deliver the advertised expectation, the real problem is you. Let me sell you a flashy new year model car that I show you a picture of and when you get it, there are no wheels or seats. Just be patient and dont complain, you didnt HAVE to buy it, right?
