I want something to display in my game room like the old days. all that nostalgia i get when walking past my book shelf of old game collections. it warms my heart to see all that kind of stuff. anyone can go on amazon and buy memorabilia. I want to see (DICE-EA) BF show its love to us few collectors and lovers that dig that sort of thing. this digital realm is depressing. there is fewer and fewer real world attachment to our passions.

All my games over the last 20 years in hard copy have either been thrown out or ended up in the attic.
I have no need for hard copy. It's good enough they're on stream and origin

@iiBullFrog Agreed. I do enjoy the tangible collector items as well.

I know that Best Buy and GameStop were doing Limited steel cases for the disc versions on pre-order. Not sure how many are left:

Did live chat with EA about fifteen minutes ago asking if there will be a Gold Edition of for pre order for ps4/ps5 and other gaming platforms they have no news as of yet and to check back on forums. I personally prefer hard disc copies

@SofaJockeyUK only thing i disagree with is that they have found a way to sell you something you dont physically own.. a digital asset is nothing. people complained about when they were going to raise the price of video games to $80 USD and they actually did do that by not selling you something physical. saving them money in production. sheep will be sheep. i just want something physical of this edition.

Exactly right @iiBullFrog ,
Unfortunately then EA don't care to bother about all the trouble it is to design, produce, distribute and sell physical items like a gold-plated BF2042 Gold Edition case and DVD.
It could otherwise have been really cool with the "Ultimate Ultimate BF2042 Limited Edition" diskset version, being a shiny platinum hard-case with stylish BF silk prints and platinum discs inside with the game and all documentaries and media files, music and all.
But no, they just run it cheap.
