I would really like a game mode like gungame in Battlefield 2042. I think it is hard for players to implement this game in portal so i hope the devs read this.I really like the gungame mode in Valorant (Escalation) because it is team-based. I woud enjoy seeing something like that in bf.

I.... liked gunmaster in 3!There, i admitted it, feels nice coming out after all these years.Then again, i might just be nostalgic about having more game mode options than conquest and rush.

@ElliotLH Yea, i've already said so a few times but i do feel a little odd about BF5 as it's literally the first time in the whole franchise where i've just gone "Nope, i'm done" and as such missed a few of the QoL updates that came later.That said, after battlefront/1/5 i haven't gone back to 5 to give it a try either (probably my mistake based on what you said) even after the 2042 reveals and same with those i usually play with, but we've fired up 4 a few times recently (like a lot of others based on server crowding).I still think 3s "here, have a sandbox DLC for every playstyle you prefer, cqb DLC not good enough, well have gunmaster!" was their best attempt at making a game catering a little to everyone, but we'll see if portal can re-capture some of that magic.I still have very fond memories of two of the cqb maps from the close quarters DLC, i really hope they make it back at some point because those were a blast when you just wanted some infantry fighting. (ziba and scrapyard)Not going to jinx a certain 2142 mode by mentioning that again for obvious portal inclusion.

Probably not impossible though.Yeah @ElliotLH ,We really need to see the final specs of the Portal Experience Creator, as I have not seen the option to change the available weapons arsenal mid game to the players already active within the game round...?The triggers are otherwise there, to make the game experience very personal for the individual player, aka IF "Player" kill score=X, WHILE X >2 BUT <4 THEN DO X Y Z.....Especially looking forward to make then a Gun Master Mode, where we in the final challenge are required to get a kill by using a weaponized penguin!...only in Battlefield 😀

In BF2042 at launch, There will be only Conquest and Breakthrought available as Game Modes.. However Portal should make this possible as it will have really advanced settings for Players to create their own Battlefield experience. 🙂

Possible, yes.
Easy for the players that are non-tech programmers? No. 😋
We are btw still also to see the huge documentation/manual that EA are to release and to specify what programming commands and game variables that will be available to us in the Creator tool...
It's not comforting that none of this has so far made it out to beta review either, as this is all new and is bound to cause a lot of ups and downs before we get that in stable condition. The Portal is a significant component on which the success of BF2042 will be determined.

@WindowsManTv_CZE I think you are overestimating the possibilities of Portal. So far, nothing has given me the impression that gungame mode will be possible from portal.

@OP, I like the idea though, but I am wary Battlefield 2042 will have tons of modes that nobody will play. That's been the case with previous titles too.

I'd much rather see they stick to just a few and make those work.

@CyberDyme Regarding things being 'easy'.

With enough tools I think the community could even make content that's more popular than official released content. Look at mods like Counter-Strike or Desert Combat. 🙂

But, that's more in the form of mod support. Unfortunately that's not going to be the case, as so it seems.

Edit: Asking as I could see it being tricky to do in Portal. Probably not impossible though.

I cant really believe that portal is that advanced because to make good working and looking mode there have to be many options. Maybe you are right (i really hope) but it would be easyer if the devs would implement official modes (to portal) (after the launch).
