In back to back to back losses as a defender on breakthrough, it has occurred to me that my teammates either don’t understand the game mode or are just kill-hungry. Basically half the team set up a perimeter outside the objective (not at the frontline) and shot at the enemies who entered it. Okay not too bad of a tactic but the frustration comes when we get overran and they are still standing outside the objective letting it get captured. Like what?? Then I storm the objective trying to sweep up the attackers and PUT A BODY in the play area to try to hold it but it’s 2 defenders and 7 attackers. Meanwhile, the majority of my team is still standing outside the objective taking potshots as the objective quickly gets captured with no defenders in the capture area. You might as well leave the "in breakthrough" part from the topic title. There's a vast majority of players that either have no clue of what the objective in this game is, or simply don't care. If you have too many of them in your team you get overrun or spawn trapped.

Again, that is great but the Wildcat in the enemy spawn is a threat to almost no one.

Although I'd say if someone wants to just unwind in spawn and get kills and not help their team they should just play solo/co-op and not screw over the other 31/63 other players (in cases where it's 63 the one person sitting back doing nothing is less noticeable, of course).It obviously is a different situation to saying if you aren't using the 'meta' weapon/loadout you're doing your team a disservice (where, frankly, outside of a couple small exceptions most of the guns are all close enough that everything is viable no matter how many "x gun is OP!" posts are made. I have buddies that T1'd the vcar early on despite it being considered a joke, just because they're good with whatever gun they decide to use. I realize that the second paragraph is a bit of a ramble/digression from the topic, but I find it loosely related to playing with whatever you think is fun, although I would recommend doing something useful for your team, whether it is spotting, disabling, healing, resupplying, reviving, etc.

Like redacted for example if you have strong defensive you can just farm at the entry points and hold them off at B and C and even A for that matter because there isn't much opportunity to flank.
Even attacking in redacted some are happy to just lose the match but have a firefight and get kills.

You might as well leave the "in breakthrough" part from the topic title. There's a vast majority of players that either have no clue of what the objective in this game is, or simply don't care. If you have too many of them in your team you get overrun or spawn trapped.

I can agree with that, for the most part. I stopped playing Breakthrough once there was enough decent Conquest maps in Season 5. Breakthrough is just objective time farming for me, where I go there and wait for everyone to never get to the objective, get a couple kills, and die, become 0.2% in objective time in a matter of months.

Oh absolutely, it is a game, and any player can do whatever they want in the game. However, the whole point to a specific game mode is the objective, how do you win as a team? If a player just wants to play the game to do some random thing, there are a ton of game modes, Portal experiences, Co-op/Solo modes to do that in. You can literally build your own experience and do the exact thing you want to do.
However, you are purposely ruining the experience for others when you join a team-oriented game mode and do some random thing as an individual. What's the point? Again, there are other modes to do that in. Why ruin the experience for others? I play BF mainly for the team aspect of the game. When you have a good squad, and the entire team is PTFOing, it is playing the game how it was intended to be played and really fun.

Think of playing a pickup game of soccer, and 3 players are just hanging out at midfield waiting for the ball, only to turn around and kick it out of bounds every time they get it because it is fun for them. They don't play defense or offense but count as 3 of your 11. So essentially, you have to play the game 11 v 8 with 3 randoms in the middle of the field that periodically get the ball and immediately kick in out of bounds then "lol". How long before that gets incredibly frustrating for the 8 and the other 11 trying to play the game right? But who cares because they are just on the field to unwind, right?

I like everything you said. To further expand, these players who "just want to relax" are always given a free pass because their jobs are always tougher, or their kids are always less obedient or some excuse. I would like to ask for once, does moving your character to the objective to play the chosen game mode properly really require that much brain stamina or something? Why is it these players are always given a pass to be * by the community, just because they live a life, which everyone else also lives. Just because I work and build cabinets, does not mean I get home and suddenly can't press up on my joystick to move closer to the objective. Please someone explain.

@Adamonic you must be misunderstanding the concept of my previous reply. Chill. Did I say I play like them or that I even agree with them...? I just stated how some players might see the game; not everyone is as committed to the game as those who post here.
