Ideas for Improving the game experience and immersion:

Back about 10 years ago, a game called MAG, 256 players at once on a map. I played this game over and over. The accuracy was NOT what it is today, but the playing structure was amazing.
 
A platoon system is very needed for Conquest 128 (and if you ever want to move up from 128 to 256, well, they have already drawn a path of trials and error.
Have some platoon, 3 or 4 for Team, each platoon has 8 or 12 soldiers that are split into 2 or 3 Squad. The Platoon leader can communicate with the Squad when pressing a button or after pressing start and a button...
 
What this will do? Focused players on teamplay and allow for larger gatherings, where you have l 8 or 12 friends working together, not necessarily able to speak to each other at all time (otherwise it would become a mess!

  • Anything to move 2042 away from the Hero shooter, lone wolf, COD/APEX Legends wanna be that it is currently. 

  • I like the idea, but man, they couldn't even get 128 players to work right. Could you imagine how bad a 256 player experience would be?

    After this debacle, I expect them to go back to 64 player game modes.

    I’ve always thought that 128 would only work if they put the community bits back into 2042. 

    Squad controls/ platoons/ persistent servers/ maps showing other squads objectives. To name but a few.

    @FlibberMeister yep that is the only way, otherwise, it is pure chaos with 64 individuals vs 64 individuals. You need groups of groups doing things collectively with that many players.

    100% this, BF2042 has killed the community aspects of BF imho.

    @Adamonic Part of the 128-player issues is "one squad can't do anything".
    Part of this issue is, that a squad is max 4 players. So in BF4 a single squad could very much dominate the game. But one squad in a 64 player mode was 15% of a team, or 8% of a match.
    In BF2042 a single squad is 6% of the team or 3% of the match.
    What we need is bigger if not much bigger squads as we have now.
  • agree, A platoon of 8, consisting of 2 Squad of 4, with 1 of the 8 guy as the platoon leader. 

    And when the squad conquer or hold a certain number of zone and maybe combined with # of kills, could have access to a wave of  A-10 Warhog air support. 

    But we want, or at least, I would prefer to have a platoon system rather than small 4 people squad.

    without making it permanent, to have access to such weapon, or similar, for a set duration (10seconds or 15 seconds), that could turn the tide in some matches! Like a earned reward for leading a platoon of 2 squads to achieve certains minimum performance before being granted temporary access to it...

    Please go on sir, I believe we have something to help bring people to play together rather than only for themselves
