Instead of the bad what is actually good?

Seven or eight months now we have not really had any trouble finding the bad in or about this game.  Hell, Dice even manages to release some changes once in a while just so we can keep from getting bored with the old stuff and write, report on how things have gotten worse.

The list of good is way shorter than the list(s) of bad things about this game so it could be possible, trying to be generous here, that Dice is overwhelmed by the hate and negativity.  It cant really hurt to list the good things that you like about this game so that Dice can finally see the possible one of two things that we like so that they can maybe, just maybe build a new game or fix this one based on a solid base of what they have done right.

We and I all know that there is no fixing this game period.  The damage, problems and issues are just too deep to heal.  We see them trying to incorporate things from previous titles but doing it in a manner that is spreading the playerbase out even more which only makes this game that much more of a mess and failure.

So what is it that you actually like about this game compared to other releases?

  • simple, its the latest and greatest version of battlefield - its noticeably boring playing old played out maps and shows how advanced it has become - it really is quite madenning to see everyones personal opinion be the guideline to how the game should be - play it or dont its not hard the energy spent by the new generation to vilify professionals is only disheartening - all i desire is for a closed office door and let them get on with it again, run or get off the treadmill and no the money issue for me is not a good enough reason to commplain, ive bought many music albums that ive wanted to return in my time as theyre * but thats commerce

  • For me...

    1. Finally a SOLO/CO-OP mode! I like playing against bots, unlock staff etc (I'd like ribbons become available in Solo mode as well, but I don't care so much about the amount of xp).

    2. Portal for setting my "playlist" of maps and all the criteria for a personal game.

    3. Gunplay and sounds of the weapons.

1.The shooting mechanics in 2042 are far superior to any other battlefield.
    2. There is very little SBMM so I can dominate like I used to in other shooters.

    3. Being able to pick any class I want and she gaget's want. I hated in bf4 how I had to be a medic to heal myself so then I couldn't use the best guns in the game. The class system ruined battlefield even though so called "vets" won't shut up about it but being in 2042

The reason the medics were medics, engineers are engineers etc  was because BF used to be a team game or certainly squad based.

You clearly just want to run around as a super soldier (which this allows) and not play as a team.

The foot steps are ok except when you are inside a building or structure and you cannot tell if the person is above or below you.
Gun/vehicle sounds, honestly go back to bf1.  They were far better.

The best thing they did in this is the + system.  Its intuitive and just works.

  • Thanks for sharing your thoughts and views.

It is very interesting and to be honest it is very sad that from this small sampling there are very few things in this game that are good.  I hope that someone from EA and Dice has read through this.  I doubt any have but I wasn't counting on it.

I realize that when I started this thread I didn't offer up my thoughts.  The Plus system is one that I do like.  As others have mentioned I do find the ingame audio to be ok.  I guess the only other thing that I can say is that I tolerate the game, despite the massive issues present, enough to kill some time playing it still.  It is not a good game compared to other BF titles or titles from other studios.  But, until something new comes along that snags my interest I will continue to play it.

Again my thanks for you input.

If I were asked to do the same for Battlefield V, my list would be even smaller.

I also forgot to mention how much I enjoy the graphics in Battlefield 2042.  The Specialists were designed well and are all memorable.  I like their different personalities.  The one liners after the match give this game an old school arcade vibe that I can appreciate.  I've never felt that the tone of the game needed to be darker or grittier.  This was not an issue for me.

Uh...and while I can think of several other things that the haptic feedback in the Dual Sense controller could have been used for like like feeling heavy vehicles approach when on foot as we were able to in Bad Company way back on PS3.  Feeling my own characters' footsteps is cool.  So is the wind when the tornado is in play.

To those discussing sound.  To me it is on par with Battlefield 3 and 4 which while the effects sound great.  Hearing what I need to hear in real time is a problem.  I never know a helicopter is above me or anywhere near me until it is blasting the crap out of me.  Then I miraculously hear the blades spinning when I am down waiting for the revive.

@HARLEMnycity I believe BF4 is the wrong example. Most people think about Assault Rifles as the best weapons in BF4.
And BF4 classes are still more versatile than BF2042 specialists.
