lack of maps - content and overall effort towards Battlefield

This is not a trolling post or meant to be sarcastic in anyway. I genuinely would love to know whats happening with a once amazing franchise. some of the reasons why fans have either left, about to leave or just simply hate EA, is because it appears to us, ( perception is reality right?)

that compared to BF4 and BF1, there simply is no emphasis put on this franchise. Both of those games had amazing DLC release content with a clear and concise road map that lead to multiple maps being release in each event totaling up to 32 maps for BF4 and over 25 for BF1.

BF2042 is on pace to give us 4 maps total in a calendar year...... what? Along with that, there is no road map, little to no communication about future content, cute videos where the devs talk a big game about how much work is being done, but here we sit with 1 new map almost a year after launch. Not to mention no server browser, being kicked back to the main lobby after every game, I mean did any of these current devs play any battlefield before this? ever?

Does EA truly not care about Battlefield that much anymore, or is it all the talent is gone after BF1?? Fans don't know because no one tells us anything and that's why there is so much hate towards this game.

As a disappointed fan, I still play because sadly I paid over $110 for the ultimate edition and just want to at least feel like I got my moneys worth. ( I still haven't ).

I know this will fall on deaf ears but I at least wanted to express this here in hopes that someone will read it and understand how fans feel. Hopefully EA/DICE see what they did and never allow this to happen again, stop releasing unfinished games with out FULL support of making it a true battlefield game.

@mputnam7The General Manager of DICE, Rebecka Coutaz, even came out and said that they're all in on Battlefield and the team is dedicated to fixing the wrongs they have done with this game.
It's one thing to do the bare minimum and be sneaky but to come out and outright lie to your players faces is absolutely disgusting.
You expect us to buy your products in future DICE, seriously?!

@CloverDeuce They'd be doing me a favour. Part of me still hopes that they'll be honest for once, which of course is never going to happen. If 1 map per season is all they have planned, they need to just say that.

@MortalitasWolf I'm honestly super fascinated to learn why that despite 18 months of work on improving Frostbite, and despite "all of DICE" working on 2042, why they only seem able to update a single map and create a new map per season.

That bodes terribly for the future of DICE's games if this is the best the might of the full studio can muster, when normal times would see a smaller live-ops team that would be doing even less work. Though hopefully whenever the next game releases they'll have actually finished development BEFORE launch and won't need to spend 2+ years slowly limping towards a proper launch-state.

@mputnam7 Your preaching to the quire. Iv said this same exact thing on so many topics and tried to create my own topic. I even loved bfv. All the talent left after bfv I believe. Cause bfv had some really innovative new gameplay idea (i.e. attrition, building fortifications, combined arms, amazing class balance, a spec system that worked with weapons and vehicles, destructible environments, great weapon and character customization) the lack of content in 2042 is what truely disappoints me. We need more weapons and maps, LOTS MORE.

@edgecrusherO0Exactly! Either way it looks terrible on EA and DICE. If all they can churn out with 100's of people working on this game is 1 map and 1 rework per season then that says an awful lot about the management of DICE as a studio. On the other hand, if they've lied about it... Well that's just plain wrong. You don't treat your customers like that.

@MortalitasWolf Agreed. It is sad because battlefield is my biggest passion. I haven't really played any other games over the past 3 years and have been play battlefield since bad company 1. Iv seen the rise and fall and seen some amazing turn arounds but idk if that is going to happen this time 😢

@SCUBASTEVE120 Same here. I'm only passionate about it because this is literally my favourite series of all time and I've played a LOT of games over the years. It's just so sad to see this happen to a series you love.
