If not, merge and hide as done with others.So based on the original class briefings, the Engineer Class is going to be the only class with access to Shoulder-fired weapons. Since Lis is already restricted from those AND in that class, only 2 other current Specialists (Boris/Crawford) will have access to those weapons (could change). That literally reduces access to those weapons by 90% based on Specialist selection. In Season 4, we will get our 14 Specialist, and by all accounts, only 2 of them will still have access to an M5 or FXAA. They have tried to balance this game with the understanding that every Specialist could have access to those gadgets, but now there are only two, and even those two can still select C5, which means there is a good chance that Boris or Crawford will be running around with C5 instead of one of those. Engineers are supposed to be anti-vehicle Specialists, yet Boris and Crawford have turrets that don't do damage to them? Lis makes sense, but why not give her access to M5 and FXAA, but just make it a shared cooldown with her TGM?Question: How many players are going to switch to Boris or Crawford now just to use the M5 or FXAA now?It felt like Rao was a much better Specialist to fight against vehicles and aircraft, but he is now a Recon. A lot of these feel like square peg, round hole solutions.

@Adamonic if they were going to do it then it should have been before launch. unless this is a home run (i don't see how it will be) it will drive away a big part of the player base that stuck with the game and it's not going to bring back and RETAIN people who moved on because they hated specialists. this isn't a halfway happy thing, it's a no one happy thing

@Ironhead841 I hope so, but there is no clean way to do it. They tried to make the classes have relatively the same amount of Specialists, all currently have 3. Otherwise, you are significantly restricting gadgets to a very small pool of players.The only other way to do it is not to restrict a gadget by a single class. So Engineer AND Recon can have FXAA. Engineer and Support can have M5. Things like that.

@Psubond I did argue for classes yes, you're right, but that was A YEAR AGO, I've been pretty clear ever since they announced implementing this change, at this late stage, that I didn't think it was a good idea. I think the time to do this would have been way back when the game first rolled out, now I just think it will probably * off literally everybody since some will say it doesn't go far enough and others will see it as hampering their preferred playstyle.Me personally, I'm willing to wait and see how it all shakes out and offer constructive feedback as much as possible as I am almost 100% certain it is going to need to be tweaked fairly quickly once everybody gets in and experiences the changes firsthand.That being said I will reiterate that I think Rao is a fairly obvious choice to be moved into the Engineer class, in my opinion.

Removing FXAA from Rao will prove to be a major mistake. Air (particularly steath bomber) is going to have a field day after this. The designers are fooling themselves if they think that people are going to somehow be able to coordiate the hack timing.

I've seen quite a few people who seem to think Rao would be a better fit for the Engineer class (I do too) so maybe based on the feedback it will hopefully be revaluated.

@Ironhead841 the entire game was built on trying to satisfy everyone thus satisfying no one. I agree, that if they were going to do classes, it should've been done before S1.

@Adamonic I think yall making a drama without evaluating the full picture. Including the fact that vehicles are extremely underpowered in most cases.

And you're forgetting that we're getting Javeling and the little dart pistol from Bad Company that allows rockets to lock on.

So why don't we wait and see how it actually plays out before making conclusions

@Psubond Have people picked engineer in BF3 and 4 to use rocket launchers? Yes, they did. And yes, people will use those two if they want to fight annoying vehicles.

This is how Battlefield worked for over a decade. You'd still be able to use your favorite primary instead of being forced to use certain sub-classes.

Different situation. One of your gadget slots will be locked to an absolutely useless gadget (sentry gun or minigun). Hardly anyone will want those and vehicles are going to go ham on infantry
