Banned Battlefield 2042 looking for help

Gooday EA forums,

I wanted to share what’s been going on over the past few months with my ban in hopes of getting some extra help or advice on what I should do next.

Here’s the situation: when I was at home, I played Battlefield 2042 on my Xbox Series X pretty regularly for about two years. When I moved away to university, I didn’t bring my Xbox with me, but I still wanted to keep playing the game. So, when I saw it on sale on Steam, I decided to buy it there and continue playing on my PC instead.

A few months later, after playing off and on, I was suddenly banned without any clear explanation. After checking the forums, I noticed a lot of other players were going through the same thing around that time and were talking about false bans. So, I followed EA’s instructions and submitted an appeal.

As I went through the process, I was told to check my user data to find the exact reason for the ban, since the penalty page originally didn’t say why I was banned. I did that, but even after several appeals, the issue still hasn’t been resolved. Now, I’ve run into another problem which was my penalty history has completely disappeared, so I can’t even submit another appeal because there’s nothing showing up anymore.

This morning, I chatted with an EA advisor and explained the whole situation. They told me to email the Ban Team on getting more information and talking to an advisor on there team using the appeal process, but when I explained that I couldn’t because of the missing penalty history, they sent me two links to try and submit an appeal anyway. Unfortunately, I’ve had no luck so far.

At this point, I feel completely stuck. I’ve been going back and forth with EA for months, and now I don’t even have a way to move forward with an appeal.

One which was this  which should no penalty to be appeal (So basically impossible to reach the Ban team)  

The second link was to this  

Where I was led to believe this would submit/forward an email to the Ban team as told by the advisor. After filling this out and clicking submit it would bring me here

which takes you back to the original penalty history page with no way of contacting that Ban team. 

with this all accumulating together I yet again looked to the forums where I saw that someone had a very similar experience with the one I am having currently. that person would be Moris 45 who made this discussion around the time I was banned myself Have you been BANNED!? The same situation as I can no longer access an foreseeable way to contact the ban team or even a real person on how to get more information or eve

n resolve this issue I am at a loss If someone could help me find a way to contact the ban team that would be greatly appreciated. I can also provide the transcript of the conversation with the advisor if that would help

    Bans and suspensions don't always appear in the penalty history for some reason, but cases can still usually be raised via EA Help agents. 

    Have you checked https://help.ea.com/en/help-my-cases/ to see if the case you show in one of your screenshots is there? Also, have you tried playing the game recently in case the ban was revoked in the meantime?

    yes I tried playing this morning on my Xbox it says that my account is still disabled for this game. As for when you say check my cases to see if the case I show in my screenshots are there, Can I get a bit more clarity on what you mean there.

    Thank you for confirming that you're still unable to play. Most likely, the ban is still in place then, unfortunately. 

    You mentioned in your initial post that you had submitted a case (second image), so you should be able to see it via the link I shared if it was sent correctly. I should be able to give you the steps to open a case with EA Help that they can send to ToS on your behalf, but if you do already have one raised, then opening a second one will move you to the back of the queue, so it's best to double-check there first.

    Ah I see thanks for the clarification. So essentially ATM I have no Case opened on the matter as when I click on in the second image submit it brings me to the third image where it does not start a case rather it wants me to open one through my Penalty History  to resolve the issue. The problem being that there is no penalty's to appeal that appeal on that page thus I'm not able to submit an appeal through that.  Even though I do know I have an active ban for Competitive advantage.

    OK, give these steps a try. Hopefully they'll let you submit a case.

    • Select 'Menu' at the top of the EA Help site.
    • Next, pick the "See all" option next to "Help by game" (it should be towards the bottom of the menu). 
    • Now search for Battlefield 2042 and select it. 
    • Scroll to the bottom of the next page and click "Contact us". 
    • Fill out the form (I chose 'Submit an appeal' for the issue). 
    • When you’re taken to the next page, there should be the option to email an agent. You should be able to explain the problem and ask that your appeal be passed to the Terms of Service team from here (I stopped at this point as I didn't want to initiate a case). 

     

    If the email option doesn't appear, sign out of your account and go through the steps again as a guest. That usually makes it show up.

    Thank you so much! 

    I did as you said and had to for some reason submit my appeal as a guest but this time it did let me email EA on the matter, I also asked that it be passed to the TOS team as you said so thanks for the tip.

    now all I have to do is wait for a response so I will update this post when that happens!

    Glad you were able to get your appeal put in with the advice of ElliotLH​ 

    As there is nothing further we can do here on the forum as pointed out by Elliot I am going to go ahead and close this off. If you need help with anything else please don't hesitate to make a new thread.
