New Melee Takedowns?
Hey battlefield community !
I was watching good old jackfrags breakdown the battlefield 2042 gameplay trailer on YouTube but I stumbled across what appears to be some kind of new Melee or coun...
I like the take down mechanics, I personally think it is sweet, also the counter was pretty cool too, if it is not in game no big deal to me (the counter that is)
I would like a Patrick Swayze "roadhouse" take down , even more so to do that as the female medic specialist lol that's just my opinion.
BFV already sort of gave us all the tools we'd need for every type of instrument bashing that one might like .
So I'm thinking not 'New Melee Takedowns' , but Non Melee Takedowns .
The Soldier themselves are the weapon .
Martial arts moves in particular come to mind .
Stuff like . . well . . to be brutal : stuff like what's been banned from the UFC , or worse .
It'd be fun to grapple with an unwary Soldier and try to drop them on their head if I can .
Why stab a rooftop sniper when you can just grab and toss them off the buildings edge instead?
Fear of falling off yourself in the tussle? What do you care?
You have a Glide Suit , and if you're good , maybe you could even watch them fall , allll the wayyy doW!! .
Yeah , maybe too violent , even for a war game :P
. . .
(more)On Topic : (but still non-melee)
I want a fishing rod-and reel and weighty three-pronged fishing hook .
Like real fishing I might get lucky and catch an eye , or grenade pin .
Great for luring out suspected lurkers too .
Cast off to the side noisily and wait to see if heads pop up for a look .
@tempo_rarityExcept that BF1 and BFV were the worst iterations of the melee system DICE ever implemented.
Panic knifing was rewarded with a tag… and don’t even get me started on bayo charges. Unless you prefer a dumbed-down system that literally only requires you to spam a button at any position or distance relative to the enemy?
No, what is needed is a return to when dog tags were EARNED based on skillful, careful gameplay. When you had to actually get directly above or next to your prey and ensure you could not be countered… that was challenging and thus, rewarding gameplay. If that’s not for you, then that is okay, just shoot me and leave knifing to those who appreciate it.
@235Nuke No, if you remove the animation, you are no longer differentiating a knife “swipe” attack and a knife “takedown” that rewards a tag. That would be a return to the days of 2142, which was when the system was first implememted 15 years ago…
