Hi folks.I'm really scared when between every speculations and rumors i saw Community Managers from EA saying that official HC servers won't ever happen. Telling us that, well, there is Portal for that ... ammm wut ?We will quickly cover that fact that progression is not properly enabled (yet ?) in Portal mode, to go straight to the core problem. Does this means that in the eyes of EA, HC is no longer a real available mode ? Where it was up to us to choose to use it or not. But just a bonus regelated to a bonus section of the game. Were we can have fun times to times but if we want to move forward in the game we must stay on none HC servers ? Beside being an utterly incomprehensible decision, I'm really wondering how long we will be able to run it on the Portal, on the long term. It's already freakishly difficult to find good servers on it. Does EA really think this is a viable "solution" ? What are your thought ?

Diversity is no more an option in BF games. The competitive part has been removed totally with no scoreboard (my KD is good ?? how'd you know ?)The previous BF's had all kinds of community driven servers for each players taste, If it could be made, you could be sure someone shared your taste and made it.But not anymore .... Play the game like EA wants you to do it .....

@ragnarok013 sorry but, this is sounds a little like BS excuse ^^. I can't buy that as official EA excuse. People don't look at the flag or the face of the people they were shooting at to make sure friend or foe, we are not in Tarkov. We always had the name tag above our teammate. No nametag, open fire.

@VRACinque The fact we have specialists that look exactly the same on both sides makes hardcore almost impossible. Prior to launch there was talk of slightly different colours for each team, but that does not seem to have made it through.On Portal you can set the game to the old team types, so hardcore is possible (just very limited progression). On official servers with 2042 setups, you would have no idea which side someone is on and they will not backtrack on the specialist system now (the latest COD Modern Warfare dealt with it by having different specialists for each side, BF2042 didn't go that way).They seem to have decided to tell us how we should play and removed hardcore along with many other features of what we thought made Battlefield Battlefield.There has been a compete disconnect with many "veteran" players as they chase ex Fortnite and COD players that like paying for cosmetics.

EA has been trying to get rid of HC since BF4. I highly doubt they will enable official servers.

Would be such a shame. Curious to see the servers population on BF4 between HC vs normal. I guess HC is much smaller but how small to justify removing it from now on on futur opus

@Rusty Rat well more than limited if we must say so. The progression lock kinda force us to go normal if we want to do anything.
Regarding the aspect of discerning friend from foe, the cosmetiv (imo) doesn't justify anything. Sure they all look the same, but even in HC we had the blue ATH above teammate.

@VRACinque How would hard core actually work in 2042 official servers outside of portal? Official game modes are Specialist only and the same exact identical specialists are on each side with no spotting so official hard core would be a friendly fire bloodbath unless they made faction skins for the specialists or brought back classes for and official hard core mode. I'd be in favor of both faction skins or bringing back classes as well as bringing back an official HC mode but as the game currently is implemented it's not possible outside of portal.

@VRACinque as a long time Battlefield hard core player your statement is false for me and my friend group. We all took that extra half second to identify friend from foe so we don't get kicked from the server for friendly fire which is why on the odd occasion we played core it took a few rounds to get back into twitch firing.

My simple guess is that they realized how terribly open and empty the maps are and that people would just post up with a sniper rifle or LMG. It would turn into WW1 trench warfare but without the trenches.
