@Man_iLoveFishing Today we have a VOIP system that is barely working. You can't hear people when they speak, the only way you can improve on that is lower the game volume, which causes an annoying effect if someone plays with an open mic, and not push to talk.
@D-Man3847The defaults DICE chooses are very often the main reason their games never reach their potential. Current defaults I despise are "Crossplay - On", "All chat - Off", "VOIP - Party chat, not Squad chat", "Chat box - Don't show", "Profanity Filter - Always on", so I don't need an "Always On Mic" that impacts overall game play in another negative way.
Overall I believe it has more negative aspects that positive aspects, and for Europeans especially sociological issues attached to in.
I have a lot of friends who complain for a variety of game, "Hey, I was in squad with Germans the other day, and they don't speak in game at all. When I play on an US server, they all talk my ear off." I play my games with friends from international communities, where we have player from South Africa to Finland, so we generally speak and write in English, still squads or parties have a tendency to form in language groups.
So in Europe an open mic policy would be most likely Babylon in games.
