- Sohsuh2 years agoNew Ace@AngrySquid270 What would be the difference if it was released to everybody?
How would that affect the awareness of the product? People are either playing it or they are seeing streamers play it. Either way is a win.
There's literally no logical reason for this. - UP_LordPlumber2 years agoSeasoned Ace@Sohsuh Its not "Early access". They're playing separate build of the game available for a select group of people. A closed test if you will.
They don't keep any progress or unlocks from it since their main accounts are not linked to it.
Its just an advertisement move aimed to create more "Hype" around the launch. Most game devs do that. - Sohsuh2 years agoNew Ace@UP_LordPlumber Again, if they released it for everybody today, how would that affect the hype around the launch?

The vids created by these creators will likely reach a few thousand additional people who either forgot S6 launches tomorrow or weren't previously aware. Fringe customers.
This strategy gives that set of fringe customer a touch of extra motivation to check out S6 - as now they get to say "I was one of the first".
You don't see the value because there isn't any for you. This marketing is targeted towards a different group.
- Sohsuh2 years agoNew Ace@AngrySquid270 So those additional people would find out the same way. The only difference is the people who know about it would be playing right now, which wouldn't change anything.
It makes no logical sense. - JOGAGATYA2 years agoSeasoned Ace
I will try to simplify: For a certain group of people there is a greater desire to own something if they can't have it (yet).
Where i live, drinking alcohol was prohibited on the beach.
Most young people drank all day on the beach secretly. This year it is legal to consume alcohol on the beach. I haven't seen many people drinking.
- Sohsuh2 years agoNew Ace@JOGAGATYA Nah. This whole catering to streamers thing for the 50 people who have no clue new content is releasing is just ridiculous.
Content should be released for everyone on the same day like it used to. No special people just because they play games in front of a camera. - OskooI_0072 years agoSeasoned Ace
People love influencers. There was this one influencer in New York City who said he was going to give away free PS5's and thousands of his followers rioted and hung onto the roof of his car as it sped away.
In the end not a single PS5 was given away.

@SohsuhYou're talking as if the content is released equally for everybody all the time.
DLCs used to release up to 2 WEEKS early for Premium owners compared to people who bought them separately.
Games themselves release early for people who spent extra on "Special Editon"
There are Closed Alpha and Beta tests. Should those also be banned?
At this point people are just looking for something to complain about.
Before it was the general state of the game and lack or something. Now that we have most things either fixed or added, people now complaining about things that are so minor and insignificant, I can't help myself but laught.
Some are crying about Dice selling skins for real money because "how dare they do that". Seems like you've all had a collective dementia and forgot about a 30 EUR/USD "Elite Ugrade" that also contains unique skins and can only be purchased using real money. Wheres' the outrage regarding that pack?
Now you're crying about Youtubers getting 24 "review" window to show what is actually inside the Battlepass and how everything looks and works. Again, you've all suffered from memory loss since BF3, BF4 and everything in between had one or even TWO-week early access for Premium users along with Youtubers getting 1 or 2 day headstart ALONG with EA flying them out for a capture event.
I swear we're not far away from people complaining that having different graphics and FPS options isn't allowed and that the game should run at 1080p60 for everyone regardless of console/PC because "Its unfair and everyone must be on the same playing field". - Sohsuh2 years agoNew Ace@UP_LordPlumber Premium access ANYONE can pay for, and betas and alphas are completely different from a bunch of streamers able to play a full 24 hours early for no logical reason.
The point here is logic, and you aren't understanding it at all. It's quite simple, the EA Creator Network, provides EA with "free" advertisement for their games. As far as I know the content creators part of that network don't get paid, but as nothing in life comes for free they have to be given some kind of incentive to be part of this network. So they get perks and rewards, which can be early access, invitations to playtests (for which I assume they get their expenses covered). So it's a bit of I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine.
- UP_LordPlumber2 years agoSeasoned Ace@Sohsuh You could pay for Premium. Youtubers pay with their viewer base for advertisement. Simple logic.
- Sohsuh2 years agoNew Ace
@UP_LordPlumberAre you daft?
Simple logic is EVERYONE has access to premium if they want, whereas not everyone has access to the youtuber privilege.
Take your head out of the sand. Everyone.... Sohsuh doesn't actually want any answers. Just agreement with original statement.

They release it early to streamers who 99.9% play games on easy or the AI removed after the players name to make them look like real players.
I have never seen so many players stand still or not see jackfrags for example.
It's to promote the sale of new season.
- Sohsuh2 years agoNew Ace@Kona_uk Would regular people playing the game hurt the promotion of the new season?
- Kona_uk2 years agoSeasoned Ace
No but regular players are deemed less important by some it seem's.
They let streamers have early access so no stress on servers etc it's all planned.
Let's look at jackfrags for example bf2042 is rubbish and then a update he has early access to it's great again!!
7 days later its rubbish next update rinse and repeat.
- UP_LordPlumber2 years agoSeasoned Ace@Sohsuh Anyone is free to make a youtube account and start making videos. If you are consistent enough and get a somewhat of a community, you can get into the early program.
Its all comes down to advertisement. They want as many people to see the product as possible before release. Its what trailers are for, its what capture events for youtubers are for. - Sohsuh2 years agoNew Ace@YourLocalPI You have to have a head injury if you think having a successful youtube channel that gets benefits from a large gaming company is the same thing as someone paying $15.
- Sohsuh2 years agoNew Ace@Kona_uk Ah finally, someone with some sense.
You are slightly correct.
The real reason they do this is so that the streamers talk up the product before it's released to the public. This way, with most of their releases being terrible and this game being awful in general, people can be swindled into buying a battle pass because X streamer said that the content is good.
If they let the general public play it at the same time, then people would see that it isn't good before they see anyone hyping it up, making them less likely to buy anything.
In short, they use streamers to pass off bad content as good in hopes to get money from people who can't think for themselves. - UP_LordPlumber2 years agoSeasoned Ace@Sohsuh Holy mother of God, after like 10 people told you its all about marketing, you got it XDDDDDD
- @Sohsuh After a whole thread of people telling you that they do it to promote the game leading into an update you finally come to the same conclusion yourself as if it's some fresh discovery.
This is how new products and updates are promoted across the entertainment industry, both good and bad products.
Beyond that, you continue to seem wholly ignorant of this topic but absolutely confident you completely understand it. A sentient Dunning Kruger example that's found the BF2042 forums, impressive. - Sohsuh2 years agoNew Ace@UP_LordPlumber Good lord how can you be so dense?
- Sohsuh2 years agoNew Ace@edgecrusherO0 I wanted people to admit it was a scam instead of trying to come off as if it's just normal advertisement.
Only 1 person partially did.
The rest of you act like it's just a regular old commercial.
It's predatory and it's become a regular thing for all these companies who ship garbage content, and all the streamers continue to lie about the product because they want the goody bag.
