Removal of the Russian Faction
The current ingame lore looking like it will become US vs. No-Pats
I really think it's time to remove the Russian faction from the game for obvious reasons.
Give the US side all the basic ai skins for now (4 free skins per class, Forest/snow/sand/autumn camos)
Then more realistic US army skins in the store.
Keep the class Weapon Proficiency and Class Equipment.
Then for the Specialist slot a choice of 2 to 3 hi-tech specialists Gadget for them.
Assault:
Drone swarm attack or plasma thrower.
Engineer:
Railgun shoulder launcher or repair dogo.
Support:
Auto heart restart or 3D ammo print station.
Recon:
Static Hologram or Active Cloak.

Removing a faction is perhaps the worst idea for 2042 after adding Specialists. I'd rather they add more factions into the mix rather than dilute what little resemblance we currently have to a storied game franchise.
I also think changing a game's setting and backstory in response to real world events is incredibly short sighted and sets a really bad precedent for future games.

You mean exactly like EA did in Battlefield 4 @Psubond? China was the single player enemy faction, and both Russia and China were the multiplayer enemy faction along with the US.
