Rush is a standard mode, why is it not listed?

I see everything but RUSH as a game/session/mode to join. Why?!

  • @KillerMcKraken Yes unfortunately at EA/Dice they don’t seem to care about the franchise staple gamemodes.

    Conquest 64, Breakthrough 64, Rush and TDM need to be playable ALWAYS!
  • @KillerMcKraken Let's talk about the REAL reason.
    Remember how BF4 had a TON of gamemodes besides the staples, like defuse, carrier assault, air superiority, squad deathmatch, gun master, chain link, CTF and more? Each of these gamemodes existed when its respective DLC happened (or, the base game happened), and then they would drastically fall off in popularity and there'd be 1 empty CTF server on a different continent that sometimes maybe gets players. And this was with BF4's player numbers.

    Most people are not **that** interested in the non-CQ gamemodes. If there were 10 secondary gamemodes available at all times, no one would play any of them. DICE rotate a small selection of secondary gamemodes instead, so when people get bored of conquest and want 'something else' there's not 10 options to spread 2042's smaller playerbase out, there's a few that they are (ideally) rotating every week to keep things fresh.

    I get your point. Too many game modes + a small player pool = longer matchmaking times. 

    But you said it yourself - "BF4 had a TON of gamemodes besides the staples". Key word - "besides". 

    There's been countless posts on this forum and on reddit asking why rush is removed week in and week out. Every time I play rush the servers are full. It's a stapled mode and should remain a stapled/none rotated mode forever. It should not be rotated with random game modes all the time. That's what the featured game modes in portal are for.

    @I_DYN4MO_I I don't much like that it's a rotated mode either as I prefer the smaller player count which leads to more sane fights, but DICE likely consider Breakthrough more popular than Rush (I wonder what the actual player numbers are?), or more worryingly have some legal obligation to keep Breakthrough around.

    @Lady_One IMHO I don't think many of us really enjoy the rotating game modes. While I do prefer Breakthrough in general, sometimes I like to play other modes and it can get frustrating when Rush etc aren't in rotation and I can't find a populated Portal server.

    Obviously CQ and BT are the main staples and no doubt the most popular. Then below is Rush & TDM & HZ. (All stapled modes). 

    Now if you're a big fan of Rush like I am, you'll have noticed that only Rush gets rotated out (of all the stapled game modes) for either Shutdown, Rush XL, TDM chaos or Control and barely gets just 1 active week of every month. 

    Rush is the only stapled mode that gets rotated week in week out. It even gets rotated out for TDM chaos to leave players with a choice of TDM and TDM chaos but no rush. 

  • Ugh! Makes me homesick for the additional modes!  

    Defuse, Carrier assault, and Obliteration! Obliteration was insanely fun CHAOS!!!

    I never play TDM and some other game mode that's always available. Only Rush and Breakthrough.

    Just saying why not always offer 64/128 Rush and Breakthrough?

    I, and I'm unlikely alone, would play/pay more if game modes I was interested in were always available.

    P.S. I would definitely pay for some boating/carrier maps! Mostly cause Carrier assault was one of my top favs.

    P.P.S.  And a remake of the Metro map. 🙂 - But an exact duplicate. The latest map really shows the devs or designer doesn't quite get choke points.
